Just as a point of reference, many match shooters use the PPU 75 as an inexpensive alternative and have excellent results.
I have used tons of it for teaching and would say it gives up very few points to Black Hills especially when the price is considered.

We are generally using 1:7 20" bbls, maybe that is the issue?

I hear you... as we all know.. all barrels are different. I will add that I did not fire any PPU 75gr past 100yds... it may be that they had not settled down.

Interesting what was the date of manufacture and lot #? It should be on a strip of paper included on each box.

I believe it that is the date: year and month followed by the inspector #. I ask because your chrono results match the old "slow" version of this ammo.

i'd like to see ADI F1 62gr (SS109 type load) and CBC 62gr

have you noticed an accuracy difference between foreign and US made M855/SS109 loads?  it seems to me that the ADI, IMI, Danish, Hirtenberger SS109 rounds have always grouped better than the M855 rounds i've shot

I've got the ADI.

I will seek out some CBC 62gr.... wish me luck since it probably was all bought during the M855 run of '15.

And as for the M193 / M855 accuracy question... Yes, I have noticed an accuracy improvement in my rifles ( YMMV )  with "True" NATO type surplus M855 as opposed to our XM855, not a dramatic difference, but enough to notice...... but not with PPU, MKE, Hotshot,...etc

if you cant find any CBC 62gr, thats probably my fault.  its my normal practice ammo and when The Scare hit last month, i bought all i could find before prices went up or it disappeared.  it did end up going out of stock from the places i buy from even though its just regular ball ammo and not a M855/SS109 round

I'd like to see loads using the Hornady 68gr.

Hornady sells one, and I think Black Hills and Ultramax do also, but all are popular and go fast.

Wow, that's very generous of you.  I really appreciate that.  The gel test results of fiocchi psp are some of the most impressive I have ever seen from any 5.56 or .223 bullet type.  Even at lower velocities, the wound channel is almost identical to full power gel hits.

I'd love to see how well it penetrates barriers.

The dismal performance  of the PPU 75 grain match is disappointing.

I bought some of that a couple of years ago after reading the review here by DocGkr.

:(

I have a Sig M 400 1/7 16" that likes it, under 2" moa at 100yds with a stock trigger, 1x4 Xtac and myself behind it and I'm admittedly very inexperienced. Have since upgraded to a Wilson Combat TTU, just need some cooperation from Mother Nature to see how much difference the new trigger makes.
Sucks it didn't do well for you since it is about the cheapest heavy round on the market. I'm going to get some of the CBC 77gr and see how I do with it.

77gr SMK PMC XTAC .223
Never seen this, where( if you don't want to give up your source that's cool, I understand) might one aquire some?
The PMC 62gr Xtac is the 2nd most accurate M855 round I have tried in my rifle. As usual the IMI M855 is the best.
Oh and thank you for ALL the info, it is much appreciated! If you're ever in Indiana I would like to buy you a beverage or two of your choice.

PMC XTAC 77 gr.... is here..

Target Sports USA gets all sorts of oddball stuff..... order GECO 7.62x39 ( reloadable brass ) from them as well... I hope it is even close as accurate as their .223.

Hmmmm....are you sure your chronograph is calibrated properly?  Your numbers for Fiocchi seem way off from other readings I've seen elsewhere.  Your numbers are low by almost 300 fps!

Could be my lot of it. I double checked after seeing those figures, because I agree they seem low.... but my known GECO ammo was right where it should be. I fired ten rounds of GECO right after the 10 rounds Fiocchi 55gr PSP.
