I have been looking for a small quantity of 7.62x51 ammo.  Just had a guy tell me he would sell me some Cavim from the 80's for .75 per round.  I just laughed and told him if I remember correctly that stuff was not any good in the 80's.  I really doubt the 30+ years since then has caused it to improve any.

A lot of years since then but if I remember right it had some sort of tar sealant on it that would really gum up the works of any rifle it was shot out of.  It is brass cased, but the brass was so soft that it was a bear to reload.  

A warning to everyone that a stock of this stuff may have been found and is making its way around.

Hot, accurate, and though it did have tar sealant I never had any problem with the sealant.

If the price was right I would buy today.

Jeeezz... you can get current production at that price !

You can get current production for several cents cheaper per round than that.

Most military .30 cal has some sort of tar sealant- both South African and Portugese do I am certain.
