Those in Central Florida. Walmart at 434 and 436 has about 30 boxes of American Eagle .223 55gr at $8 per box. Limit 3 boxes per person.

Thanks.

Palmetto is a little slow to ship, but they don't price gouge and/or seem to play the sell then cancel game that Natchez and others do.

I've got bunch of handgun ammo inbound from them.

YMMV.

Dead to me are Lucky, CTD, and Natchez.

Getting better, but not great

SOLD OUTFiochi 62gr 50 rd/$25 @ Target Sports

Early on I was happy with Palmetto because they seemed to have some things in stock and weren't jacking up prices.
Now we can see some of this relaxing a little and several places have inventory and are shipping rapidly.  I have orders from PSA from the 7th that haven't shipped.  I ordered from PK Firearms and Brownells this week and have received both shipments within 2-3 days.

This is making me fed up with PSA and I'm about to cancel about $2500 worth of orders with them.

I noticed Brownells had several uppers in stock last night.  I'm certain I could have received those weeks ahead of the 3 I have on order from PSA.

I know no one here is a fan, I'm not even liking having to do it, but I just managed to get 6 boxes of .223 at Dicks... I feel dirty for doing so but they are the only place that has had them in stock around here  (Blacksburg) and they just got in over 1000 rounds.

+1 on the Dead List, especially CTD.  I'm not too happy with TargetSports either.  I've only placed one order with Palmetto, so we'll see how that goes.  Got in on the PMC X-Tac sale last weekend.  I ordered four cases at a reasonable price; much fairer than many other sites are charging.  They do state on their front page to expect two weeks before your order ships.  While that isn't MidwayUSA type service and turnaround, I'm going to have to wait and stick it out for the X-Tac ammo.  It shoots accurate and is pretty clean.

Yea. Reading the homepage clearly shows Palmetto will have a delay, like 99% of the firearm resellers these days. Doesn't bother me too much.

Dick's in Fayetteville, NC had some in yesterday.  Called them up after I read the posts trashing Dick's about pulling ARs.  I didn't know about that issue.  I usually shop at REI for anything that I could get at Dicks.  Didn't even know they had firearms and ammunition.  The Independence ammo was priced right though, so I paid them a visit, along with my wife.  At least they let each of us walk out with six boxes each.

Stopped by the local Academy Sports this morning. There were about 15 or so guys standing at the door 15 minutes prior to start of business. Nothing to get excited over gun-wise, but hey had a bunch of .223/5.56 and all of the other popular rifle and handgun calibers now located at customer service. AE223 1000 round bulk packs for $419. They were imposing the three box limit, so guys were walking out with a box of 9mm, a sleeve of .22LR and 1000 rounds of .223. It was quite comical.

While I've never had issues with Wolf that's not a good price at all.  I'm waiting on PMC XTAC from PSA for only $19 more and its brass reloadable.  Regular prices for a case of 1,000 should be below $250 and in today's market no more than $400 for Wolf IMO.

Exactly. I refuse to pay an inflated price on an inferior product, brass has been proven time and time again to be a superior product to that cheap russian ammo. Like you said, several months ago you could pick up a case of 1k for $200-230bucks and now they want that much for 500 rounds. If people want to spend that more power to them, I just wait around for good deals, I have patience. I lucked out and found Fiocchi 62gr FMJ rounds in boxes of 50 about a month ago for $19 a box fro a good company who isn't price gouging.

My Palmetto State Armory order from 1/8/2013 is delivering today - guys, I know you are complaining, but you need to read the big disclaimer on their homepage in large red letters.  Also, you need to read their order cancellation policy (10% restock).  From my POV, they have done everything they said they would do because the expectations were set upfront.  I am pleased and will continue to do business with them.  Now only if they will get X-TAC 62gr back in stock at $6.49/box .

15,750 Rounds of .22LR delivering today!  Props to PSA

Yah i would say to people that are new to this somewhat like myself don't jump on the steel case unless its .25-.30 cents a round shipped IMO. My buddy paid 15 bucks a box for wolf steel at a local gun shop couple days ago luckily I stopped him before he bought a Troy battle mag for $63. I purchased 3 of them in an auction during the hysteria for $72 so THERE ARE DEALS OUT THERE although they are only RELATIVE to the gouging that is currently present in most places online and local gun shops.

It's likely that in a few weeks, maybe months that this will all calm down and people will feel silly or ashamed at what they have been spending. From what I have seen gun auction prices have been declining slightly and more and more online retailers are stocking ammo daily.

There are deals out there just stay on this page and try to get brass 55gr. for anything less than .50 cents a round shipped and your doing okay especially if your buying in quantities less than 500. If your buying in big quantities I think you should be in the .45 CPR range or below.

Obviously, your current situation will vary, but consider this when calculating cpr.  And this might help some understand why some guys are willing to spend 75cpr.

I drew the line at 40cpr, using 33cpr as a pre-panic base.

7 cpr doesn't sound too bad, but look at 1,000 rounds
1,000 x .07 = $70
$70 is $70.
But, $70 in pre-panic prices, is 212 rounds.  10 boxes of 20 rounds.  That depressed me a little...

I picked up 1,000 rounds form Cabelas at 40 cpr, with can.  My only consolation was that I had stocked up a bit on the IMI.  And, although I had less than 1,000 of 223 for target shooting, almost all of those were bought at Dick's, using scorecard points and coupons AND while the ammo was on sale.  I timed those perfect storms so that I could get Remington 223 for less than 20cpr.  Still, that's the like the guy at the casino who was winning and said, "well it was their money I was playing with."  No...the minute you won it, the money was yours and you lost your money!

Anyway, it's possible some guys are rationalizing in similar manners and some will just take it on the chiin and move on.  Lesson learned.
