I read on ARF and heard rumors that there is zero chance of any country selling surplus 5.56 NATO again thanks to the UN.
Any truth to this or just more gun shop heresay? If this is true, can anyone point me to the directive/ruling/treaty that prevents surplus ammo from being sold again?
Gun shop heresay. There is always a ban of some sort, pending lawsuit,
liberal invasion guess that one did come true. But no, there isn't anything out there that would stop surplus from coming in. Just last year they got a big shipment of Radway Green .308 in, and last time I checked, England was still a member of Nato.
ETA: I saw you said 5.56, why would they ban one round but not another? The stuff just isn't out there. I think some Lit 5.56 just made it in, but it was held up in customs for a long while.
