I shoot XM193 and Q3131 primarily but have been interested in a heavier load. I was wondering if the 1/9 twist rate on the 16" R4 barrel on my RRA would stabilize Hornady's 75 GR TAP round. The heaviest I have heard of was 69 gr rounds out of a 1/9 but i havent seen much about TAP ammo in while.

I am kind of new to the game my self, but i was told i could shoot a 75 /77 or up to an 80 grain bullet .I have a 1/7 H-BAR 20 inch. I dont know if this helps you, but good luck.

69 gr is the heaviest normally used in 1/9 barrels, but it is not uncommon for heavier rounds to stabilize in some barrels with slower twist rates. I would give it a try and see what kind of results you get.

Some 1:9s will, some won't.
Only way to know is go try.

In terms of combat accuracy, Yes it most likely will out to alteast 100 meters. Match accuracy, NO but then again it's up to you what is acceptable.

75gr TAP is the most accurate ammo I've put through my 16" 1/9. Always tight and consistent, at least to 100 yds. I haven't shot out beyond that.
