Looking at ordering a bolt for my NFA Glock 9mm AR.  Lots of choices out and I don't really want to buy something that may or may not last.  What's a good brand without having to do any modifications?

You could search for some threads regarding 9mm bolts.

I've used NFA, and Spinta without issue.

I used a PSA bolt and got rid of it.

I just received my Spinta bolt, but have not run it yet due to my build being incomplete.

I bought one from Lone Wolf.  They use it in their production G9 carbine so I figured couldnt be that bad and I was right.  Seems to be running fine with several hundred rounds through it.

I have a JP in mine and it works great, comes ready for Glock mags. Anything from Rudy is gonna be quality.

Ordered a Spinta Blem for $114.94 shipped.  We'll see how it holds up.  If it turns out to be crap, then I'll order a Lone Wolf or something similar of known quality.

I have over 3,000 rounds on a spinta blem bolt.  Happy enough I bought a second for my new 9 build, gave the first to my daughter for Christmas.

+1

I have a Macon armory 16" upper. It is boring-reliable. Factory/handloads, 115-147 and everything in between.

Plus Rudy is great to deal with.

Am I looking at his website wrong?

All I see is .45ACP stuff.

Not everything he does is on Rudy's site.  Contact him here; his username is "Mad Machinist."

I don't know about the DI stuff, at least not at the moment, nor about Rudy's prices for his .45 setups.  I've worked with him on some 9mm stuff, including having him mill a standard "Colt-style" 9mm AR bolt for Glock mag clearance.  I've also discussed some blowback .40 stuff with him.

Contact him and see what he says.

What were the issues with the PSA bolt?

I'm still deciding on which bolt to order.  I've decided I'm going to get a hydraulic buffer.  Someone mentioned the NFA having more weight and having a standard ar15 extractor.    Does the extra weight make much difference when combined with a hydraulic buffer?  The other choice is the Spinta.

New Frontier Armory bolt has a lot of weight to it.

But their firing pin sucks. Mine lasted 2 rounds. Pickup 2 spare CMMG FP's to go with it.

Also, the "Gas Key" on mine came loose. I cleaned up the screws and re-installed with Rocksett.

Besides that, it uses a .223 extractor and has great weight to it.

I wish there was a small list of the 9mm bolts that used 556 extractors.  Or other standard firing pins and such.
