I bought a TROS 9" 9mm barrel from a member here not too long ago.  I finally got around to trying to mount it and realized the flange that butts up against the upper receiver is too large for the barrel nut to slip over.  I think it's an easy fix, just turn it down in a lathe.  I was wondering, has anyone else had this issue?

I had that exact issue.

I sent it back to Mark, and he promptly turned it down and sent it back to me.

I'm pretty sure it is. It's marked 'TROS' in the lay line. I don't think it's counterfeit. I just wasn't sure if I was missing something like it's intended to be used with a certain rail or something. I know a competent gunsmith that could easily turn it down. Still, might contact TROS about it. Don't know if it makes a difference that I bought it second hand.

You said you bought it second hand - was it used or unfired?

It it was used then it's probably an issue with tolerance stacking between the barrel and your barrel nut.  I'd probably look around for another barrel nut that fits.

If it was unfired, it could go either way.   The seller might not have been able to get it to fit either, in which case I'd probably send it back to TROS... well, after still trying out a few different barrel nuts anyway.
