What is your favorite soft case for a 9mm carbine?  Hoping to find something that has mag pouches that hold 32 round mags snug.

These are my favorite soft cases, not sure if there's a size to fit your rifle with the narrow magazines though - perhaps the #10?

Picked up one of these years ago at a gun show. Great case. Quality made in USA stuff. All closed cell foam.

Is the rifle secured with straps inside?

the muzzle can go in a pocket on that end but no straps.  You don't need straps if you have a scope on the AR.  The fit is so good that there is no shifting around of the system in the  case. Its GTG

I have the UTG case linked above, good quality construction but very little padding compared to a good closed cell foam case like the Voodoo/Condor MOLLE cases. And no exterior mag pouches. It occasionally carries my MP5-22 but I have better cases for that.

Unless you're planning to break your 16" AR down you'll have to use a 36" case. I don't know of a 36" case that has SMG/stick type mag pouches if that's what you're looking for.

I have an Uncle Mike's case similar to the one linked above, I think it's 26" as it's just big enough for my Beretta CX4 Storm and has the straight exterior mag pouches that will hold 30 round pistol/SMG mags. It is not big enough to hold my RRA 16" AR with optics, even when broken down.

I believe the Elite #10 case I linked above *DOES* have the stick-type mag pouches and is listed at 36", so it might be a good one to look at...
