This is my favorite to date!
Taccom Carbon Fiber barrel-Taccom Folding Light Weight Stock
KAK Flash Can with Midwest Industry 12" Key Mod hand guard and M.I. SPLP Sight Set

I really like the newer chamber/collar machine work

I'll follow this up with a range report

She looks built for speed!

How does the balance feel with the difference in the stocks?

Balance feels good with the Taccom folder.

Of course the M4 stock with buffer and spring are going to add some weight.

Wanted to show it with both for comparison.

The KAK flash can is aluminum so it doesn't add a lot of weight to the end like a Noveske would.

1st Range trip
Using a Hako Holographic sight.

Wolf MT did only slightly better than the Winchester 555. I believe the barrel will settle in after a couple hundred more rounds.
For me, this will be my all around .22.

Hey Dave.....Nice looking set up.

Now.....on those groups, lets get them tightened up a little more. I've been doing 10 shot 2" groups at 50yds so far with that 11" barrel, using a 1x scope. I will say that I am using Fiocchi Ammo and that 555 garbage.....but if it's all ya got, I understand.

Like I said Tim, it's not even broke in yet.
I know it's not my usual groupings but .22 is tough to find here. And I was shooting with an RDS off a block of wood.

My next outing will be with a scope and CCI!

It's a KAK flash can. Aluminum, light weight. Keeps the blast out of the hand guards and I wanted something different.

probably makes the barrel less accurate too

I thought of that too.

I'll try it with a thread protector and take the KAK can off. Maybe the 3.5 oz. is too much for the Ultra Light barrel.

Nice, Dave!

Yeah, the heavy muzzle device may be hindering the barrel's accuracy. I am very interested in seeing the results of your testing.

What's the measured length of the barrel sticking out from the receiver? Trying to figure out what length rails are compatible. Thanks in advance.

Dave,

I'll be serious for a minute.......I put one of those flash cans on my ultra light 223 barrel.

My results were interesting:
The barrel was zero'd at 100 yds and was shooting 3/4" 5 shot groups

Then I put that can on:
Groups were 3" low at 100yds and had opened up to 2"

I'm thinking that the heavy weight on the end made the barrel whip more as the bullet traveled down the barrel......took the can off.....group went back to zero at 100yds

It was rather EYE OPENING to say the least.

BUT DANG!!!>>>>>>>I like the way they look!!!

That can is worth 4.2 oz of weight at the end!  Tim, seemed like you might have to come up with an ultralight version of that flash can! Since it is only for .22 and for looks, make it out of carbon fiber

What is the weight of an A2?
It has to be an ounce or two.

2.4 oz with crush washer according to my scale.

Hmmm I think I know where you are going with this. The 2 oz difference seemed miniscule, could it really affect the barrel harmonics enough to cause accuracy issue?

Mine is actually the slim line and weighs 3.5 oz.
Still could matter.

I don't have a lot of confidence in the Hakko sight. I've had it for years and remember taking it off one of my 5.56's and throwing it down the range because of changing POI.
Thought it might work ok on a .22

I'll just have to check it and see.
