After a ten month wait, I finally received my 17 HMR upper from  Alexander Arms. The rifle has only been zeroed at twenty five yards, so no real range report.

Interesting.  Does it use a proprietary mag, or something already in use elsewhere (adapted or not)?

It's proprietary. There is also a magazine well insert that is held in place with a couple of set screws.

Fifty rounds have been fired through it, no FTFs, FTEs. Not one single issue.

Please post additional photos and information as you shoot it. I would love to have a reliable 17 HMR upper. I have 100 acres covered in squirels that would have a bad time with that in my hands.

Awesome!

In for the range report!

Any chance we can get some close-ups of the bolt and action? Looks well done.

I thought there was some issue that 17 HMR was not supposed to be used in a semi auto??? Something about out of battery discharges or something?  Has this been fixed?

Lesser firearm manufacturers failed to make their firearms conform to the pressure curve safely.  Alexander Arms is one of the few who've managed.  Remington did not, and ripped off folks who had bought their rifles.

Looks like an amazing gun. I was drooling on the American Rifleman article.

Wow! Looks like they took a fresh approach.

I really hope that works out. We have really had tons of fun with our dedicated 22LR, but recognize that we were lucky to have avoided all the pitfalls that many fell into.

It would be great to hear how things go with this as you wring it out!

Many thanks for the photos!

I have had my rifle for about a year now.  Shoots great and have had no problems with it yet.
