Mocked up my future SBR/PDW.
20151120_095427 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr

A cut off piece of barrel from a 5.56 pistol build was used to get a feel for it.
20151120_095228 (1) by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr

I've gotta take care of some bills before I can proceed, unfortunately.

The barrel will be cut to 4.5" and a linear brake used when the time comes. It'll be a suppressor host as well.

It ends up at 23" extended and 19 collapsed.

It aught to make for a fun plinker.

Look in the KeyMod holes on the rail. 4.5" barrel with a suppressor.

It's a weather monitoring station http://www.ambientweather.com/amws1000wifi.html

It allows you to somewhat predict the weather own your own. Will come in handy during the apocalypse along with the customized 22

Take all that stuff off, sell it and buy a good optic. There is a very fine looking 416 D145RS under there.

I had to swap lowers, my better mag adaptor wouldn't fit my seekins forged lower, so I had to put it in my seekins SP223 lower.

This is definitely my favorite gun.  It gets the most attention when I take it out because it's so quiet.

Put a shorter stock, and smaller grip on it to make it smaller.

Actually works pretty well for plinking outside in the sun, but not so great at several darker indoor ranges I've tried or in the house.

Yep, Nordic stock. Been looking for one forever and stumbled across a member on the akfiles selling this one. It's a nice stock, but does interferes with the ejection port a bit when fully closed. I'd also like to buy a pressure plug as there's a cavity behind the .22 bolt assembly when installed.

Video worked for me, a Buddy uses a bump fire on his S&W 15-22 with Timney trigger.  Curious which trigger and ammo your using?  I've not seen to many bump fire stocks with AR-15's with 22 LR.

Geissele super dynamic three gun and CCI mini mags

ETA: was a fully loaded 25 round Black Dog mag so rate of fire is mighty fast.  Using a CMMG dedicated .22 bolt and CMMG dedicated .22 barrel in a Rainier upper receiver.

LOL.  That's an Engage Armament billet lower which is kind of heavy.  I may swap in a run of the mill forged lower or maybe even a polymer lower to decrease the weight and see if it will run even faster.

Outstanding! I have a dedicated.22 built on an Engage billet lower with a factory CMMG .22 upper on it. I'd love to get it to run with my slide fire. Be a hell of a lot cheaper to shoot. So nothing fancy besides a Geissle 3gun trigger and minimags? No recoil enhancing muzzle device? If I could get mine to run with a slide fire and my can it would be almost the perfect .22 range toy.

Sweet!  I love my Engage lower!  It's serial number 500 which is kind of cool.  I want to leave a lower set up for bump fire but my Engage one is too nice for that. (Pic below is before I put the Battle Arms Titanium takedown pins in it)

Nothing to fancy except for a $300 trigger .  Just a Geisele SD3G trigger and I am using a SlideFire recoil enhancing muzzle device that I got from the EE for $20 shipped.  Not sure if that's needed or not, I had it so I put it on there.  I'll run some tests this weekend with different ammo, suppressed, without the muzzle device, etc. to see what it likes and what it doesn't like.  As configured, it runs like a raped ape with CCI mini mags.  I did notice that it doesn't like to bump fire when pointed toward the ground, it likes to be relatively horizontal.  I guess the .22 recoil is not enough to bump the weight of the upper "uphill" when aiming at the dirt in front of you to test.

Very cool.  I like the matching billet upper. I bought my 2 Engage lowers during the panic leading up to FSA2013. I feel the same way about it being too nice for a dedicated 22. My other I built into a pistol. I need to swap out both lowers for some el cheapo Anderson lowers and save the Engage lowers for some nice pre-ban builds. How do you like the flat 3gun trigger? I was seriously considering buying a smith & Wesson mp15-22 and dedicating it to the slide fire. This gives me home. Other then the cost of the 3G trigger its win/win if I use the lower fort other stuff.

I lucked into my Engage lower used a few weeks ago at an LGS, so it's a post 10/1 lower and I need to be careful about what uppers I put on it.

I like the flat trigger.  I also have a Geissele Super Dynamic Combat trigger that is flat that needs a lower to be its home.

Smith and Wesson did a great job of delivering a reliable rifle at a low cost with the 15/22.  But when I held one in the LGS, the only thing I could think was "this is a plastic POS".  I built several dedicated .22lr uppers in various lengths for the same cost of buying a 15/22 (they all share a bolt which is the most expensive part).  Two of them have 4.5" barrels so bulk pack ammo is subsonic in them.  I shoot .22 ARs more than any other gun (9mm AR not far behind, I have a bump stock for that too but have not installed it yet).

Pic thread, so here's some of my other .22AR configurations, both with 4.5" barrels:

I have been having problems with my Blackdog magazine, mainly due to age. So I took the opportunity to install a Catch22 bolt catch along with using S&W mags.

This is how my gun currently looks, might look at getting a lower profile rail soon.
