I picked up one of the formative guns of my youth. When I was 9-10 my dads PD
switched from 870's to Colt A2 carbines. It's was the first AR I ever shot. That
left a pretty big impression on a little kid! Last week I walked into my local gun store
to find the town PD had just traded in their last Colt.(for shiny new M&P 15s

)

A 6530 was my first AR, later changed it to a 6520. Probably my favorite KISS carbine, mine shoots like a dream.

Very nice. That is one of the ARs on my list. I recently picked up a Colt AR6320. I had been wanting this particular one for about three years. Still unfired since it left Colt and the accessory pack has never been opened.

Great Score and PRICE! Hate to tell you guys, I bought a complete Tactical Unit trade in 6520 for 375 around 2009 so I could shorten the barrel, put an A1 upper on it and make it into a GAU-5/ 653. I am very happy with it but nobody wanted A2s then, damnit!

The 6520 and 6320 are two of Colt's very best!!! Good job!

According to Colt the gun was made in 01. Looking at the bolt it looks like it's barely been shot.
Either they don't shoot rifle qualification much or they used a different rifle. All the better for me!

Im SO upset i sold my 6520. I bought a PD trade in 6520 Restricted with no sear block for 850 in extremely good condition and then, like an absolute retarded fool, sold it for 1100 because I needed some cash. Worst decision I ever made. Id love to pick one of these up again if anyone knows where I can get one under a grand that was made in the ban years without a sear block?

That's what I was thinking ... with Colt N stocks and 6-hole HG's going for 150 a set, 650 is a steal.

My favorites to find are the 1995 era 6520s and 6721s. They are "post ban", but lack the LEO markings (which I don't care for) and are more grey in color. They make easy 727/723 and early M4A1 project starters.
