Thinking about buying a nodal m16a2 lower and having it engraved with the correct markings. I have a friend that can do the engraving. Should it be laser or hard engraved? Also, if the lower is already anodized does it need to be completely refinished? Would it be correct to fill the engraving with white paint? Does anyone have a pic of theirs that they have engraved? Thanks guys

As much as I like Nodak Spud, I wouldn't get one of their lowers if I were going to do faux-engraving.  Either an 80% lower or a lower with a plain left-side magazine well would be a better option IMO.  I have several Range Tool lowers that have a blank magazine well that would host the engraving much better.  The problem with Nodak lowers is the text on the mag well always looks terrible with any clone engraving.

Range Tool lower

I wouldn't do laser engraving and I'd just touch it up with aluma black or something afterwards.  Definitely not white paint.

I had Ident Marking engrave a NDS A1 lower with the Colt logo along with Auto marking and faux sear pin and they just hit the engraved area with some Alumna Black.  I don't have a pic of my lower, but here's the link to the picture gallery on their website.
