I am working on my first build and cant seem to find alot of 18" barrels chambered for 5.56, most are chambered in .223 wylde.  My question is.....whats the difference and is one better than the other?  I want a rifle that will shoot both .223 and 5.56 and most importantly safely and accurately.

Well then you want a wylde chamber. Without going into a long, drawn out explanation, it will safely handle both cartridges with likely some accuracy benefits over a 5.56 chamber.

Also be sure to go for a 1:8 twist to ensure maximum accuracy from the widest range of bullet weights.
