I had been looking at the Spikes Mid length CHF barrels a seller had been offering for a while on the EE...had some Xmas cash and decided to take the plunge. It arrived yesterday and I matched it up to a no name A2 receiver, and stuck a B.E. Meyers Flash hider on the front (in my option a B.E Meyers improves the look of almost any barrel.   ) Stuck the assembly on a assembled lower I had been saving for a rainy day and here it is.

I can see what people have been saying about a Middy A2 - this thing is almost the perfect weight and size. I think with a A1 stock I would go as far as calling it a perfect truck gun. Weather and time permitting I will hit the range this week and see how it shoots.

I built a similar model using an A1 stock but with a carry handle.  It looks like a 3/4 scale A2.

It is amazingly handy.  I built my future son-in-law a similar one with a stainless steel barrel and he carries it every day in his ranch truck.

That picture of yours was one of the ones I used for motivation for this build. Thank you, I actually have it saved in my "Future Build" picture folder

Wow, I started day 15th of my first cycle for chemotherapy on Saturday and was out for 3 solid days  But when I checked in and saw this middy that my buddy Swift had built, it brought a big smile to my face

And we still have a build date at my house when you get back on your feet. You know my schedule...

May I ask what grip that is on your middy? I like the looks of that.
Link Posted: 2/7/2016 10:03:34 AM EDT
[#11]
It is a proprietary grip from PSA that comes as part of their deluxe parts kit.  I think it is made for them by Hogue and marked PSA.  This is the closest thing I have seen in their catalog.  http://palmettostatearmory.com/hogue-overmolded-ar-15-beavertail-pistol-grip-without-finger-grooves-black-15030.html

I like it because there is no finger bump.  The bump on an A2 grip doesn't fit my hand.
