And I'd be in for one if anyone local wants to take on the hassle of a group buy.

Thanks for the heads up, OP! I have a friend in Bloomington, so I asked if he would pick one up for me. He sent a picture of the markings, and it has an electro-stenciled looking Sabre Defence cage code, so mine is in fact a Sabre barrel. EXTREMELY happy for the price!! I called the shop yesterday, and the guy I spoke with said they had five in stock. Four, now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but since it's a military contract M16A4 barrel (my friend verified that it has an F-marked FSB), it should have rifle feed ramps, correct? Here's the picture he sent of the cage code:

Dang.
I was hoping for A2.

If I'm correct, being that it's a military contract barrel (it's marked only with the cage code, cartridge and twist info), it should have A2 feed ramps (I'm fine with either rifle or M4 feed ramps). The F-marked FSB may nag some of those wanting to put together an A2 with one, though.

I swear I looked at the FSB and did not see an F anywhere on it on those barrels.

I could be wrong, I was trying to get them out of the way to get to the M14 USGI barrels behind them.

He had one complete GI upper, but the thing had a USGI (KAC?) heavy arse quad-rail on it. I swear it was an A2 receiver. But I didn't look closely at it. I can't remember the price on it.

There are a couple gems in the can with the USGI used mags. Nabbed a colt 30 round GI mag with the LE markings on it for $16

I need to hit the surplus shop in Bedford IN too, supposedly he has a bunch of GI AR parts.

Guess this stuff comes from Crane.

A few of these Sabre Defense Industries M16A4 popped up on EE.  The barrel was listed for $190 and went quick.  Good uppers for a SDI M16A4 clone

I bought that one, too. For what it's worth, when I IM'd him, he said he has a few more at that price.

You're going to be so happy with these SDI barrels.  I had a chance to play with the USMC issued Sabre Defense M16A4's in Arizona and they're deadly accurate with the ACOG RCO's.  I wouldn't be surprised if you can get sub-MOA with them.

While I remember, he had Air Force style 22LR conversion bolts for sale. I can't remember the price. But it was reasonable.

These are the ones that come with the purpose built white 22LR magazine

I doubt it. This store is close to Crane and it's all surplussed items.

I got the first barrel in today. It's a Sabre Defence M16A4 barrel. F-marked sight base, but NO M4 feed ramps. Very, very happy with that. The receiver that I'm going to use one of them on doesn't have M4 cuts.

Barrels and other major weapon components are demil code D, which is means they are destroyed.

Not to mention, off post surplus stores are infamous for buying stolen stuff.

Damn. If I lived there, I'd buy them all, keep one, and sell the rest here for $200 each.

For you guys that bought one or more of the barrels, what did you do with them? I kept one as a spare and used the other on my C7 clone:

Must resist......will not build a C7, will not build a C7!!!!! Beautiful rifle, ive often considered building one but ive got a Model 651 in the works. Just waiting on my lower from Nodak and figuring out which barrel I want to use.

Thankfully Slim had my A1 upper I'm using for that. Didn't have enough spare cash for a second one at the moment

Wish I would have seen this earlier. Picked up one in Bedford for $159. Sabre Defense A4. Stopped by on my way home a saw the price difference. Asked where they came from and was told owner purchased a bunch of them at Knob Creek. Had 3 as of Saturday afternoon. Guess I should have got them all.
