Just finished this build.  It's a clone of my boot camp rifle.  US Army, A co 2/54 Infantry on Sandhill, Ft. Benning, GA 1993.  SFC Hinkle was my lead Drill Sergeant

DPMS stripped A2 upper (got it from CDNN for $39)
Windham Weaponry A2 front end, 1/7 barrel, upper parts kit
BCM lower purchased during Sandy Hook panic
Rock River A2 stock kit w/ USGI cleaning kit inside
Geisselle SSA trigger (OK, didn't have this in boot camp)
BCM bolt carrier group
USGI M1 sling (didn't have this in boot either, but I'm an Appleseed instructor, so it's a must for me and my accuracy standards)
USGI pistol grip and charging handle

It's a shooter!  50m 5 round zero target with XM193!  Shot from prone unsupported with loop sling per Appleseed standard.  Zeroed using Molon's Revised Improved Battlesight Zero.  Haven't stretched it further than 50m yet, but will soon.

Not an A2, but this is my clone of a M16A1 which is what I used from 1978-84.

I'll play, though I didn't see an A2 in active duty until I reached Kandahar Air Field and saw some support units rocking them.  Didn't get to handle one (minus the one I threw at a private at KAF who left it unsecured at a chow hall) until I came back stateside and became the unit armorer again.  It was instant love, had to have one so I built this beauty.  Though I still have a fond love for the M4A1, the M16A2 has my heart at the moment

My same exact rifle as jrs93accord is showing. U.S.M.C. 1978-82. I couldn't wait to get out of boot camp and into the FMF so I could carry the rifle by the Rear Sight Aperture (carrying handle). A big no no in boot camp.

DaMoose14,

Nice collection of the great American battle rifles !!

Your A1 will round it out perfectly.

Maybe not, the Coasties still drill with Garands. They don't fire then however. Wouldn't surprise me to find out that 20 years ago they were using 03s as drill rifles.
