Need zip ties to tie down/supplement the scope rings!
Augee- Next time you are at a Army schoohouse/course, look closely at the various inspirational / propaganda posters on the wall... One of the sets was done in the mid-early 90s, and has Rangers with 727s and aimpoints. Good quality pics of their set up. |

Looks like a Leupold M3A 10x that would have been found on the M24 SWS.

Also notice the cheekpiece, made from 100mph tape and (probably)and a first aid dressing.

I'm less familiar with all the M24's specs and optics. The M40A1 or just M40 would've been the Marines at the time, eh? At the A1 had that 10x unertl, I think. |

The 5000 was standard once the unit received it, but some operators still chose to use their 2000s, and a select few the 3000. Not jabbing at you by any means, I just don't want someone trying to build a true replica/clone using the wrong optic. |

The Leupold rings do that. That's what I got on my M1A there.

The problem I found was that most of the modern commercial rings are to high.

Yeah, those leupy ones I got are pretty darn low. I don't think I've seen anything lower than that. But I don't know what they measure.

Here's my BHD inspired contribution.
Old Bushmaster 727 like rifle. I used a Swan MRO carry handle mount for the PRO. I wanted a more useful optic, as this will also be my every day rifle. Barrel is a 1:9, and if it proves less than accurate, I'll replace it. Still waiting on a good deal for a barrel mounted weapon light. Attached File |

Super duper cool.
FWIW, that's more 723. 727 is an A2 upper. But IMHO. 723 is tops!!!! You done good. |

If Gordon is using a 723, he would have a forward assist without a brass deflector, correct? A1 sights. At that time, only Canadian C7 uppers would have both deflector and FA with A1 sights? I know it's impossible to pinpoint the exact combination of parts, but I'd like to use the process of elimination to the best of my ability. Detail is extremely important to me. Based off of photos of Delta, I have only seen a pencil profile 723 with an ops inc suppressor collar, so I believe that is probably what Gordon had as well. So, - A1 Upper w/ FA - A2 Lower - 14.5 inch pencil barrel - A2 Flash Hider - Colt Carbine Handguards - Colt Stock (Aluminum, VA, or fiberlite?) - 2 position buffer tube Are M16A2 Carbine lowers available to the civilian market? Or would I have to use a commercial receiver? View Quote |

View Quote Thank you. I always forget It's called masterkey. I want one like KAC makes. I found the flashlights but they are smaller than the majority of Surefires available. I also found a S&W flashlight that seems to fit the description and size that was listed as potential kit at the time. I have the A2 rear sights which would be more MARSOC equipment, 727 so I'm trying to find a correct light for it. I ordered some American made A2 handle optics mounts, Im hoping they are a good fit. |
