I had a ruger sr556 the first month they came out.  I sold it for 3000$ when things got crazy. .  My biggest gripe was it was stupid heavy.  If I get another one what would it cost to have the barrel turned down to a light profile and pinned and welded to 14.5?  Any one have a picture with one with a 14.5?  Would a Daniel defense LW middy barrel work on it?

No forend options that I'm aware of.

The current guns (SR556 Takedown) have a quick detach barrel that's pretty similar to that used on the Steyr AUG. And they now have a light profile under the Keymod forend.

Otherwise the design remains unchanged.

The state compliant model seems to have switched to a Samson rail from the original troy rail. It feels lighter, to me at least.

Ruger hasn't used the Troy rail in awhile.
