I am about to buy an upper from faxon, and just wanted to get some feedback from others. likes, dislikes, opinoins and how well your firearm has performed. and maybe some photos to get some ideas, also I am a lefty shooter and always used a right handed AR, It has never posed a problem but with the option of a dual ejection port model coming out I also wanted some of your opinions on that model as well. thank you for any and all feedback.

also i hope i posted this in the correct thread, if not I apologize

I have a 556 version that I shoot pretty regularly and it has been flawless. I bought a 300BLK but it isn't finished yet. I have an order in for the ARAK31 so I guess you could say I am a fan.

Love my ARAK-21, I would love to upgrade to the dual ejection since I only have right side. I currently have the 5.56/.223 singel barrel upper and i'm waiting on my 7.62x39mm BAU to come in. You won't be dissapointed.

62gr. 5.56 is ideal with the 1:8 twist, but 55 gr..223 works fine.

Due to the gas piston, it is front heavy, so I recommend optics on the rear of the monolithic rail to balance out the weight.  It shoots very smooth and counterbalances out recoil very well. Having the AK reliablility is awesome and maintenance is a breeze.

I recommend a vertical or 45 degree foregrip to help support the front weight better depending on what assembly/build you're doing.

I'm a lefty too, so I went with their left handed upper.

I had one for a few months and really enjoyed it. I had to sell it to pay bills... I had the 5.56 and 300blk. I had to over gas it to cycle some wolf ammo in -15 degree Fahrenheit weather last winter. put having the ability to feed it more gas was there so, non issue. It definitely is heavy though.

wow those all look really nice, yea i was aware of the front weight, I am running a magpul UBR stock so that may balance it out a bit.

And 908ss is that bullpup lower 3D printed or purchased, it looks almost like a tavor.

Also with the 1/8 twist barrel will it still stabilize the 70-77 grain match ammunition, thats just about all i reload. i do plink with 55-62 grain but my current rifle in 1/7 does not like 55grain past 50 yards

and one last question, how is the recoil impulse, i know the AR platform doesn't kick hard by any means but i was curios if it was a pretty flat shooting rifle with the piston and muzzle brake

thank you guys for the replies!

I haven't got my 7.62x39 BAU yet, Faxon has 12.5" and 16" medium barrel kits ready to ship though, just waiting on my tracking number.

Neither I made it myself from scratch. Not everyone's cup of tea and I am fine with that. I just happen to like bullpups and the challenge.

im actually very interested in the 7.62x39 variant, i just had a question regarding steel cased ammunition, from what i've read it causes excessive throat and bore erosion, how well does your QPQ stand up to the ammunition, ive seen a report of barrels getting burnt out by 8,000-10,000 rounds with steel cased bimetal bullets.

is there any place to buy 7.62x39 brass?

Our barrels are well in-line with industry norms. Attaching a specific number is difficult as it largely depends on type of rounds, frequency of shots, etc.

10,000 rounds for bi-metal bullets is fantastic for throat erosion.

No CNC but I do have milling machine in my machine shop that I used. I drew the prints myself.

Faxon may do one if there is enough demand.

908ssp, you did a tremendous job from the looks of it! I'd love to see Faxon go ahead with a bullpup configuration.
Obviously bullpens have caught with many folks in the firearms community so I can't see how it wouldn't be a good deal for Faxon and us!
What say you Faxon Firearms?!

Neither can we.

We're going break-neck production trying to scale up to the orders.

We really appreciate your order and look forward to delivering the upper receiver.

Mine took about 300 hundred rounds to properly break in. I was getting stovepipes with every magazine before that on every gas setting but closed. Now it runs like a dream.
