Although if you already had a Faxon upper and could just swap barrels for a whole new (cheaper) caliber...different story.
I've never messed with a 7.62x39 AR...do they use a standard lower? |

They use a standard 7.62 lower, to my knowledge I have not seen or heard of the 7.62 being able to use a different caliber lower.
