as aggravating as this is, I doubt they are sitting around in sleek board rooms designed for "The Man", stroking a cat, sitting in throne-like chairs while laughing maniacally about our plight. I'm sure they want to get this thing to market to flip the ongoing story into a positive one as soon as possible.
No one is admitting anything, but I think it failed some tests and got a re-design part way through the process. I've seen the explanation to the contrary from magpul on m4carbine.net, but it only holds up for so long with a company that has been regularly churning out new products left and right and then suddenly one takes waaay longer than anything else? I'm totally cool with it if it DID fail some tests and that spawned a redesign. Rather have that than a failure prone $200 stock. If they are being transparent and all the delay is due to some evolutionary changes to 'make it even better', then at some point you have to call it the UBR 2.5 or even 3.... |

After some irritating emails back and forth, the rep claims they have them "where they want them" and should be out soon.
Won't give anymore info than that. At this point, if the bump it again I'm done with it. |

Now I haven't heard of any positive release news for the UBR 2.0 but has anyone noticed it being for sale on particular websites? Cabela's currently has it available for back order and even has a special promotion to purchase it through the month of April. Is this a hint that It's coming or a silent release?

yeah, any www site 'selling' the UBR 2 right now are just offering to put you on a list for whenever they come in. Some peeps here have been on such lists for over a year so it doesn't have much to do with the actual release date.

You may be right. If I get one in 2017 I'll be a little surprised. The magpul site seems to be the last place something like this becomes available...And of course there's no back in stock notification system or anything so even when it does "arrive" I'll prolly miss the first couple of rounds.

Don't know what this means, but I was poking around on the Cabelas site last night and while the new UBR obviously isn't in stock, it does list it as being able to be backordered. No surprise there, but the time listed to be fulfilled is a week?? True...standard answer...I don't know. But seeing the week time frame threw me for a loop.

Well hell, I went thru that whole site and was at the point of ordering...er, backordering, but I don't see that "week" timefframe there anymore. Figured it was too good to be true, and it is, but I've been waiting for this damn thing far too long and am little jumpy anymore.

I wrote to Magpul a couple days ago and got a response today. They say that they are still committed to the UBR being out there by the end of spring of this year. Not too much time left for that to be a sure thing...but that's their story.

ATF should start running adds, "we may be slow, but we're still faster than Magpul!"
I applied for a tax stamp for my SBR on 6/9/16 and got approved on 1/12/17. That's 217 days. UBR gen 2 announced on 01/13/16 and it's still unreleased, so we're at 471 days and counting on that front. If you'd prefer to count from the proposed launch date of "spring 2016" and give them the benefit of the doubt (last day was June 20), then you're still at 312 days late...and it's obviously going to wind up being at least a year late now that it's "summer 2017". The PRS gen 3 was also announced on 01/13/16 and it was released on 12/16/16, on target relative to the announced time line. |

They (Magpul) has introduced a magwell for Glock 17 and 19's that's due out Summer of 2017. That damn thing will be conceived, prototyped, proofed, tested, redesigned, tested, proofed again and introduced to the public for sale... and ill still be waiting on this God damn stock.

Will a Type 1/Type 2 QD socket fit in the front holes on the 2.0 like they do on the original? I know the 2.0 has an ASAP-type QD socket, but that can't be used when the stock is fully collapsed.

This same thread is on TOS with the same degree of frustration. After reading it, I was less pissed at Magpul than I have been for awhile. Per the post, which was made by their ((Magpul) representative, they'll be shipping by the end of June. I know, I know...just another arbitrary date in the future, but it has a "feel" of being legitimate. If this does turn out to be just another push back...Vltor, here I come. But I really want the UBR 2.0 on this build and have been holding out for it. Please Magpul, don't hose us again!!!
