Definitely yellow. As for the last color? Purple would be good.
|
|
I think the last color is going to be purple.
OK guys, one more question with regards to the rainbow packs....since we will have 8 colors total once it's all said and done, would you rather have 4 packs with random colors at the current price of $7, or an 8 pack with all of the colors in the price range of $11?? |
|
What's the final list of what the colors will be? I'd probably be more inclined to get a 4 pack variety but wouldn't necessarily want to end up with pink or purple in there.

Can u make a 300blk button for the bottom? That'd be awesome. Plus all the other calibers that use standard AR mags. That's what the colors are for. The shape and size won't change. I realize that, it would just bug me having the base plate be a 556 round when it's 300blk in the magazine. |

I hear what you are saying, but it's just not cost effective to make new molds for those pieces for every different caliber that is made for the AR platform. We would have to sell a lot of those little pieces to justify a $50,000 mold. |

Since our cost has doubled the 8 pack would cost more than $11.00. That would now be closer to the $15 range. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

8 Pack @ $11.00 would be better imo. Since our cost has doubled the 8 pack would cost more than $11.00. That would now be closer to the $15 range. I think we need to offer a kit with all colors so at least people know exactly what they are getting, plus they can see every color and pick their favorites for the future. |

So what do I do with all my $30 Pmags with the color-coded tape on them?

I think white would be good. Some sort of "carbon fiber" type look would be nice too.
Or for those of us with OCD, make kits that are FDE, or OD, etc to match the rest of the AR. Unless a certain other company would get further butthurt over that. |

We are thinking about making a run in white. Also, we have been asked by several active duty guys to make some lower visibility colors because they don't want really bright colors hanging off their kit. So we will be making some in OD, FDE, a Dark Brown, and black of course. Once we get any new colors done I will post up some pictures. |

So blue, red, orange, green, yellow, black, pink, and ????? View Quote Purple is the obvious choice and the best from a marketing standpoint (You would then offer every color of the rainbow). Can I suggest if purple a color similar to the American Classic Dodge "Plum Crazy". If not a White or Silver would be your next best options just because they are not similar to the other colors you have. |

What about an 8 for $15 customer calls it mix and match. Just set up the webpage to apply a volume discount when 8 have been added to cart or a product code that has tick mark boxes with quantity below it. Should be easy enough for the programmers. |

I know this idea might not be possible from a legal stand point, and may not appear as a good business practice to some.
What about making a kit that allows for this system to be used on p-mags? I don't know if retro-fit would be the right term, but that is the best I can come up with at the moment. Some people, like myself, may not want to further add to our mag collection just to be able to use these cool parts. I do plan on purchasing the ETS mags and color parts next time I need to replace some mags. Just a thought. |

Plus, without having a see through body, they are of limited usefulness. Thanks for the feedback, and we look forward to you trying out our mags! |

Personally, I think adding different followers based on color alone is unnecessary. But, I love the interlocking design as well as the colored floor plates for recognition and wish you well. |

Thanks again for your feedback. The reason we make the followers in different colors is so the recognition can be seen from literally any angle. The colored followers also make it easier to quickly pick up on how many aprox rounds you have left. |

What if it's dark? View Quote If you can see the follower your mag is empty anyway( Unless you can see it in the dark through a translucent magazine better than glancing at the bottom of the floor plate). If you are reloading mags isn't it also too dark to see your bullets? And, it's just my opinion, but at $6.99 per pair I don't see the additional benefit for colored plates AND followers. It's not like they glow in the dark either, although that would be cool. Like I said, just my opinion, so please don't get bent. |

The mags might be laying on a table at the rang or being stored in a way that the bottom isn't easy to see. The follower recognition is as much for when the mag is not in the gun, as for when it is. plus, when the mag is in the gun, it makes it easier to see where your ammo count is. The points you make are valid in a particular situation, but there are so many possible situations, the real question is, why not have the follower colored to see? A good example: we were contact by gov agency recently because they run FMJ and frangible ammo in their ARs. They wanted to make sure that under any condition, and from any angle, they knew which ammo they had. Using two opposing bright colors, our Green and Red, along with our transparent mags made it perfect for them to know in a fraction of a second that they had the correct ammo for their situation. |
|
Another thought. Will there ever be an option to purchase a mag with a color kit already installed?
I know it would raise the cost of the mag slightly, but I think it would be a good option. Also, as a side note, are there any plans for pistol mags other than for glocks? I have a M&P 45 that I would like the clear mags for. I also just ordered two mags and an orange kit to replace two fox mags I've been having trouble with. Keep up the good work. |

Please post on here when and where you have all the 4 basic available colors in stock. Your ETS site is the only place that I have seen the RRS pieces for sale, and a couple of the colors are out of stock. I figure I will wait until then so I can get at least one pair of each and it will save on shipping to get them in one swipe. I was especially wanting the red set, but as I mentioned, I am wanting probably one(or several) of each. Thanks.

Couple questions!
Is pink still on the table? I saw this thread and started looking threw it and was interested in buying some of these magazines and getting some pink followers for my daughters Noveske build. I really don't need "more" magazines, I have over 200 PMags but I would love some of these clear mags with pink identification plates and followers. Just enough pink for the build we are working on. It's an all black rifle with JUST a Pink Magpul stock. These mags with pinks internals would look NICE! Also, and this is more out of curiosity but what did you guys do for a polymer that holds up to the abuse at AR magazine would take? I know Magpul did a few limited runs of clear magazines but decided to never produce them for market because the polymer did not hold up as well as solid colored types. Also taking a look at Lancer, they started adding metal lips because the plastic ones did not hold up well. Again for me that was more of a curiosity as my daughter wouldn't be depending her life on these, light range usage only. |

View Quote Yes, I can state that we will be coming out with black, pink, and purple in the not too distant future. As for the polymer, I really do understand why other makers had trouble trying to find a suitable clear for the ultra demanding AR mag. Ultimately we used cutting edge, very new materials and blending. With a bit of tweaking we got it just where we wanted it. See, there are other plastics that are clear, and even very impact resistant. But can they withstand UV rays? Can the withstand really harsh solvents like DEET? It took us a year and a half to get our material right. Between the thermal working range of -60 up to 200F, having to withstand all of the harsh chemicals, and the extreme impacts. Then there was the problem of creep. We had to make sure the feedlips would not spread when stored fully loaded for long periods of time. (we have one that has been sitting fully loaded for 14 months and has not spread even .001"). With all that said, we ended up with a polymer that meets or exceeds requirements in all of these areas. We are very excited about our mags and we feel we have the best AR mag ever, and we don't take those words lightly. |
