Would people want holes, or to lose the top rail in order to save weight??

How much weight would reducing the top rail to only 1-2 slots for a BUIS in the rear and 2-3 slots for a mini redot in the front?

Speaking of removing rail, any thought given to doing a version of the new handguards like the "light" series from Midwest?

Just a bit of rail where it mates up to the upper and an inch or so at the far end for irons?

I had one, liked the look but it was a bit skinny in my hand. If it's not in the running in the near term, I'll just get a regular one from you guys.

I just want to point out (maybe for a second time, I can't remember) how cool the receiver set is.  Really superb work guys.

Just picked up my lower tonight.

Wow. My ffl thought it was an empty box by mistake.

It feels fantastic. Now to get a matching upper and a v2 balios rail with reduced "railestate"

Very nice. Im still gathering bits.
Is that a new b5 grip stop? Can i ask where you got it if so?

4.8 for the stripped upper and 5.85 for the stripped lower. But I wouldn't bother with them. They stopped delivering on customer orders and won't answer there phone or email. I've been waiting over 3 months for a lower and there uppers have been out of stock since last year which is why I'm here now researching a new receiver set. What a shame, there company had real potential.

That is the new B5 Gripstop. I got it because the FFL I manage is one of the ones that will be carrying it as we had supported Nate Murr with the Gripstop early on. Murr is a personal friend of mine. And for the record, since there is confusion from some people, Nate Murr is not the Nate that owns Lanco. Murr is the inventor and owner of the Gripstop design.

I decided before revamping the packages for this AR build class that the Gripstop would be standard on all the rifles, no matter what package. It was close, but I got them on Friday (just 5 so I had enough for the students).

Anyway, the Gripstop on the 2A Armament stuff, as you can see, is super light AND it looks badass.

Not to get off topic, but that B5 piece looks a LOT like this one. The only difference I can see is the triangular region they cut out.

It pretty much is. Lanco is done with the grip stop and b5 is running it now,  with some improvements.

That's weird. 2 weeks ago i decided to go with them for a build,  mostly because of how active they are here and how engaged in their customers they seem to be.

I had my choice between primary arms,  vertex ops and Bauer precision. ..all in stock.  Brandon at Bauer was great to work with and i got my receiver in 2 days. I've since been back for the matching upper and take down pins because of it.

Strange you have had such a different experience, given that they are still listed as on stock at many of the dealers on 2A's site?

My last post on the Gripstop in this thread as to not hijack it.

The inventor and owner of the design used to work at Lanco. They produced it. They no longer have the rights to produce it. The inventor and owner of the design brought it to B5. End result? Closer to the original design and way better.

Thanks and I owe you the Thank You for the hospitality. I appreciate it much in this day. I still can not get over the fit and finish of 2A parts.
The truck gets me out were I want to be, that is for sure. Heading to Moab in a couple of weeks!
I was able to get out and shoot the new build yesterday and was quite impressed. With little time, Idaho wind, off-hand, bore sighted in my shop and a pissed off hooker tied up in my truck bed screaming for money, I was pretty happy.

I will hit you up soon on the 2A site soon for your thoughts on a particular OCD quandary.

Awesome build Idaholandho!!!

I plan on building a very similar rifle except I'll be using the Syrac piston system...I hope it fits, Wilson Combat TTU-TR trigger and top it off with either a  T2 or maybe the new Leupold 1x6 multi gun scope.
BTW, What's the the weight on that Bad Boy?

Cheers

I got to say, this receiver set is amazing.  My rifle turned out to be super light weight and maneuverable.  I am a fan for life and I look forward to new product offerings in the future!  I'd love to see a light weight lower parts kit in either titanium or polymer, and your gas block with an adjustable flavor!

It appears that Gen 3 pmags fit a little loosely in the lower.  Gen 2 mags wobble a bit, but not nearly as bad as the Gen 3 mags.  Can anyone speak to this?
