Lets see if i can de throne some people. lol my rifle has a crap load of custom parts so i guess i'm cheating to a sense. I machined a KMR 10" rail to match the upper and added MLOK just in case i need some extra rail space, but i doubt it. I have a 11.5"-300 blk Christensen Arms Carbon fiber wrapped barrel, SLR adjustable gas block, Boomfab lightweight carrier, TACCOM buffer system and a ace ultralight weight stock. I'm running the gun without the butt pad until the SBR stamp comes in.

I'm am currently making a aluminum KMR barrel nut so it ill be about 1 oz lighter. :)

Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics.

Did you notice any flexing of the KMR after machinng the top rail off?
Link Posted: 7/20/2014 1:30:49 AM EDT
[#6]
Not at all, even under the machine vise load. Usually when there is flex like that it will show up as you are machining and none of that happened. I cant squeeze it hard enough to flex it and my right hand is pretty strong from my younger years. lol

The regular Magpul 'K' grip would shave you another half ounce.  The newer ones have the same pattern as the K2.

How do you aim it?

I've heard mixed things about the weight with the K grip I am going to try it out. Thanks

It's getting a Aimpoint Micro T-1 and a Fortis F1 mount tomorrow. That should add 4.3 oz.

That thing is so light. If you're going with backup sights, go Spikes. Lightest on the market. Their gen II barrels trigger is coming out soon too. It's skelontozed and chf.

Nice! Any pics of the trigger? My barrel weighs 19.6 ounces and has all the advantages of a bull barrel but at the weight of a pencil barrel. The only thing is I have to baby it and not shoot too fast or I can ruin the carbon fiber.

I called them back in April and made the order (it took two months for me to get it), you can order on their website but you might have to call for a different caliber than .223.

Had a chance to handle the lower and matching upper on Saturday after our 3gun match. Ryan of 2A Arms shot with us and had them with him.  WOW!!!  Amazing how light they were and how cleanly machined they were.  He also had a titanium gas block with him. Simple, clean and unbelievably light.

For certain I will be supporting an Idaho company as they are making some amazing stuff.

Do you all have plans for lightweight takedown and pivot pins?

Dished faced heads that are fluted or rifle drilled from 7075 aluminum or 6v titanium pins would be pretty darn cool.

They aren't oversized but they don't detent on the trigger. The pins have c-clips on one end. So basically is the width of the receiver the same as a milspec one? Or is it "beefed up" by widening like the Mag Tactical lower??
