I was recently was looking for a budget scope to put on my .22LR upper, but also wanted a scope which I could occasionally put on my 5.56 upper (which has a PA microdot) , for those times when I want longer range accuracy (than a red dot) on my 5.56.
Based on my criteria, I narrowed my choices down to 3 scopes - Bushnell AR 2-7x, Redfield Battlezone 2-7X, and the Primary Arms fixed 6X
I ended up going with the PA6X, (with a Burris PEPR QD mount) not due to cost, but more due to the features and design of the scope. It was the only one in the price range with illumination. I really like the versatility of the ACSS reticle, and I find 6x to be a good mid range magnification level. For the money, I believe this scope is an incredible value. Pics of it online do it no justice.....although it will never have the looks of a playboy bunny....... I find it to be much better looking in hand. Has clear decent glass. Nice fine hash marks, with evenly illuminated horseshoe around the center dot. Although I have not used the ACSS reticle for long ranges, it worked nicely as holdovers on my .22LR up to 100 yards (my ranges limit). Turrets have decent clicks for the price range, and holds zero and passes the box test. Turrets are zero resettable by a screw, which are secure. Given the scopes design & overall qualities, it just feels like a much more expense scope that what I paid ( other scopes I have for comparison - Burris Mtac 1-4x, Leupold Mark AR 3-9X TMR and Nikon 1.5-4.5X )
Overall Very happy with the scope for my intended purpose and use, and Primary Arms customer service has been fantastic as usual. Highly recommend this one !!!
