I don't have one of these yet, but my other mounts will go on any one of the rails. So I would say yes.

why doesn't it set the light up forward abit? like all your other mounts. don't get me wrong I want one to get rid of the stupid knobs but push the light up

Travis gave us specific performance objectives for this mount:

1. Offset mount placing the light as close to the bore as possible to reduce weapon bulk

2. Eliminate the factory 1913 adapters which are bulky.

3. 8 position mounting from the rails at 12, 9, 6 & 3 positions.

4. Retail pricing of $50.00.

We did some prototypes of a mount which cantilevered the light forward of the mounting location which maintaining the offset position. We found the weight and size of the Millennium Series lights applied too much leverage on the mount and caused them to break. In subsequent prototypes, we modified the design, but the mount became too far away from bore and still did not function as we wanted.

Nope. Just the Millenium and M620 series which have wider base legs than the M300/M600 lights.

This mount replaces your factory mount and attaches directly to the flashlight, likley using the factory screws.

THORNTAIL MIL620 Installation Instructions:

WARNING: BEFORE INSTALLATION, REMOVE ALL AMMUNITION FROM WORK AREA AND SECURE PROPERLY, ENSURE WEAPON IS UNLOADED, PLACED ON “SAFE” AND LOOK INTO CHAMBER TO VERIFY CHAMBER IS EMPTY AND CLEAR OF AMMUNITION.

STEP 1: Attach Surefire Weaponlight to Mounting Arm (1) by inserting fastener (5) through hole in Mounting Arm (1) and use supplied hex key to thread fastener into tapped hole in base of Surefire Weaponlight. Do not tighten. Repeat for other fastener (5).
STEP 2: Use hex key to tighten one fastener (5) then the remaining fastener (5). Do not over tighten.
STEP 3: Determine desired mount location on 1913 Picatinney Rail forend.
STEP 4: Place Mount Cap (2) across 1913 Picatinney Rail aligning holes in Mount Cap (2) with treaded holes in Mounting Arm (1).
STEP 5: Insert fastener (4) through hole in Mount Cap (2) and use hex key to thread fastener into tapped hole in Mounting Arm (1). Do not tighten. Repeat for other fastener (4).
STEP 6: Use hex key to tighten one fastener (4) then the remaining fastener (4). Do not over tighten.

got the thorntail mount in yesterday. installed in about 5 min, easy to adjust and rock solid fit. mounts my light perfectly to be thumb operated with a magpul afg. i like it.

Got my two...
One for the M620V and the other for the M952V. Easy to put on (but would be easier if the 2 short bolts were the same alum wrench size as the 2 long bolts...but no biggy). I'm still playing around with mounting IR with light-. Besides that...I like it. Thanks

Are the thorntail with 1 inch ring still in stock? The website says in stock since last week when I ordered it but my CC has not been charged and no shipping info yet.
