Will you be offering Ranier Arms Custom Shop uppers with lightweight barrels now? Really like the looks of the CE16, but the govt profile barrel isn't doing it for me. The upper on these carbines looks great.

comin in at 6.5 lbs is fairly light ...guessing thats a light wt barrel in there and not a govt profile...

very well executed and snazzy looking rig though no doubt about that

Went and took a look at it and fondled it a bit today.  I can't believe how light and fast handling it is.  The Diamondhead are fast to pick up and the trigger is just awesome.  I suggest those who have not made pre-orders to do so fast as this gun is just bitchin.  I know that Ranier has a solid winner in this rifle.  It is exactly as advertised. I ordered the 16" version so I can change the muzzle device later if necessary.

I  pre-ordered the 14.5 but am wondering if there are any disadvantages vs. the 16?

The only disadvantage I can think of is having a permanently attached muzzle device that you may want to change down the line....

I'd be all over it if it didn't have the comp on the end, or at least was released as a 16" so I could throw on a lower-signature muzzle device.

Aside from that, I love it.  Looks great.

* 14.5" or 16" Lightweight Cold Hammer Forged 5.56mm Barrel

I'm guessing if you talked to the folks at Rainier they'd be willing to work something out with you on muzzle devices....

I stand corrected.  They now have the 16" version listed on their site...

Is the Geissele "OEM" a single stage?

I also read somewhere it was the same as the S2S?

Can it be made NJ legal with a different muzzle device like the mini cmpensator and a 15 round mag?  If so I may need one.

Thank you for that piece of info. I'm still learning as you probably can tell..
Can you also tell me if there is a way or an accessory to extend the lower rail to accommodate say a light and a laser? or would that only be feasible with a full lower tactical rail?

For sure!  If you would like something other than the XTC that is standard on all RUC's, we can accommodate!

Awesome.  Other question - is the barrel chrome lined?

TIA.

The majority of hammer forged barrels that have begun poping up from all the major brands are being produced by FN. Anytime you see a barrel described as "machine gun steel" and that it has a chrome lining "twice as thick as standard barrels" its probly been made by FN and sold without branding license so most of the companies can't actually SAY that FN makes them. John said these are from Daniel defense, if these are the same lightweight mid-length barrels that DD are advertising with the details I mentioned then I would put 10$ on them being FN produced.  This is great, since FN definitely knows how to make hardy barrels.

Even with all the "Mee Too" rifles I've seen poping up from every company that even sort of deals with guns, this is the only rifle I've seen that has everything I want and nothing I dont for an awesome price. Makes me wish i wasn't broke.

It's a Daniel Defense cold hammer forged barrel...I have a couple of these and they are both Cr lined

I don't believe DD offers a cold hammer forged barrel that is not.

I see a  CA compliant option, what about for the poor folks in NJ?   Semi-auto, pinned stock, permanently attached muzzle device??

I just picked up mine yesterday (benefits of living less then 10 minutes away from the shop) and it is sweet. Can't wait for a day to test it.  I love the SSA trigger and think I can get used to the stock (Magpul CTR fan here).  Everything comes in a very generously padded box (sorry guys, no hard case) with a magazine and some propaganda stickers. Very light and quick handling, set up for QD sling swivels on the left side of the handguard and two short rails at the end, one at 3 o'clock and one at 6 o'clock for vertical grips and flashlight or whatever.  I am going to add a Aimpoint CompM3 in a Bobro QD mount and call it good to go.  Really a nice rifle.  Will post a range report once I get a chance to play with it.  I understand the staff at the shop are all working hard to build and test all the rifles ordered. I think all of you who put in a pre-order will be very happy.

Damn, I will be placing an order for sure..  but some time around Jan or Feb.  I have to wait for the raise to kick in as well as the wife's job getting under way.  I must admit that I have never really been a fan of specialty ARs, but you guys really got it right.  Nothing extra on the rifle that is not needed, quality guts, and just a mean sexy looking rifle.  I can't wait to place the order and bring her home.
