The TA prefix sounds correct based on my personal experience.

Hopefully this works. The TA is correct. I've just never seen the "Z" before. |

I was told by colt Z was for there salesman samples. I have 2 marked with a z.

Seen that mark before. Think it was Zorro.
Just looks like a hand stamp someone marked it to identify it. |

Set myself up for that I guess.
The lower, grip and mag block have been sitting in a box unassembled for about 20 years. I've got it all together finally, but i had to settle on an M4 stock temporarily until I can find the correct one. Shoots great. Literally never noted this marking until a few days ago. |
