I am going to build another Air Force 604 Rifle
Using as many original new (like new) part as I can. That is the plan for now.
This was new in the wrap. (Still has some protective coating from the wrapper.)
Rebated lug
No forge code
Colt Proof Marks - Triangle & Square with "C"
Located in front of ejection port

More to follow. Keep watching, this may take some time..........

Very nice! It's an early square forge 604 upper. The only one earlier than that would be rebated under the port door.

Wow, genuine brand new 604 square. Where did you find that? Beautiful piece.

Very Nice.  I have one also with door and sight.  Correct if me if I am wrong but it is not new because it has the proof mark after being test fired as a rifle.

Theres a couple well respected members of the forum who disagree on that pretty strongly and I never know who to believe.

I do know that I also have a beautiful grey anodized square forge 604 upper that I dont think has ever been assembled as a rifle, and it is in military packaging...with both the C and the VP stamps.

This morning I dug thru some of the "D" stocks to pick out a nice one for the 604 build.
Hard to chose some times but I chose this one.
I got this one and several others thru the "EE"  from a member here.
RON
Question: which lower receiver are most of you using on you 604 build's.
I need to get on the NDS wait list very soon.
LOWER RECEIVER: STYLE:
Early - "Partial Fence"
Late - "Full Fence"

Air Force repack maybe?

I have one that looks just like that, complete with crisp proof marks, square forging, almost NOS condition, and the dried protective oil on it.
It was in a plastic bag labeled.

Absolutely.  The square forge upper and partial fence lower is just about as sexy as the AR platform has ever gotten.

I ordered a couple of the A1 Brownells barrels yesterday.
One will go on this build.
