How much of what you saw would be salvageable?
I know someone did a weld up on a lower. I'm thinking Braceman?

Looks like a PD inpound lot in the first pic - several SKS parts, flat-top AR, etc.

You never know what you'll find the junk bins of an old gun store.

I see the right side of (part of) a partial fence lower in the bucket, at about the 10:00 position.

It would be fun to sort, catalog, and remove all the decent parts.

I'm easy to amuse.

They won't even let the parts go...   damn terrorists.  Who thought storing weapons they could use or resell like that was smart?  Or is this an after effect of Tsunami cleanup of a storage facility? Those left wanting simple pieces of metal the size of button  are in tears  from the loss.   Maybe Africa will start becoming our new retro importer. Even their weapons have had to filter down to more modern stuff than what we want.

I don't have any that aren't called for right now although I expect to be getting more. I have access to shear cut m-16 rifles of various configurations (about 100k kits from the guy that cut them up from the 60s to the 90s)including some early pre ar-15/m-16 rifles like the xm designated ones and gm made ones. Even a few late 1950s variants. also have access to stoner-63 parts as well. I know he even has some experimental ones that got cut but they're in the multiple thousands of dollar range even for a kit.

Well, sounds like the origin and middle man for the scrap/parts are doing their homework….

Now THAT is depressing. It reminds me of the articles I read saying how at the end of WW2 the military deemed most of the small arms, planes and tanks we had overseas to be hardly worth packing up and shipping home, so they were either buried on the islands or dumped into the sea.

BTW a genuine M1 Thompson is one of the guns I've wanted ever since I was a kid.
