I handled one on Sunday, it looks pretty good but has an A2 port door and the moderator isn't quite right.

It's still the closest thing out there as far as factory rifles go.

$40 will fix the port door if it bothers you.

trying to decide between GAU5 or XM177

Looks like the buffer tube lock ring is the later m4 type.  I also noticed the pictures of the  XM177E2 doesn't show the company logo but the GAU does.

The one I looked at had the original style lock ring, not the castle nut.

Can anyone confirm the XM rifles won't have the Troy logo?
I really don't like the logo...

Just curious. What's the correct roll mark writing on the XM177? Is it "COMMANDO" or is it like Troy's "XM177E2"? I thought the XM177 had "COMMANDO" written on the lower.

where are you guys seeing the logo on the magwell?

the one on the left side appears optional and costs extra:

their a1 cuts aren't as clean as NDS ones as you can see the machining:

gotcha.  makes you wonder if the 177 has the logo as well.  anyone call or email to confirm?  i'd be pissed if it had the logo and the website didn't show it in their pic.

When I put my order in April, everything was cool, when they put new pic's up I questioned what happened ,I see a Troy logo on the gau, and was told only the prototype did not have it but later they decided to change it up. That day I was told that I called them back and cancelled order.{I was in touch with them by phone all five weeks or so.}I wanted to get it the original shot show model, not the way it was changed up.Heck I would have bought the proto they said not for sale thanks.

The GAU 100% for sure had the logo, I don't recall of the XM did or not.

Tazaroo, not following this. Can you explain?

I know who Horiuchi is. Sorry excuse for a human being that he is. Even worse excuse for a West Point Grad (USMA '75?).

Whe is Dale Monroe?

thanks,

Monroe was Horiuchi's partner at Ruby Ridge and said that if Lon hadn't taken the shot at Vicky Weaver, he was about to.  Monroe was later hired by Troy industries, which has led to many people boycotting the company.

That's the simple form of the story and should probably be as much discussion as it deserves in this technical thread.
