Finally finished 2 of the projects i had going on.  Huge shout out to John Thomas, he did the barrel work on my XM177.  Not only did he do a fantastic job, but he somehow had the package back on my door 5 days after i shipped it off.  I think my next step will to eventually of the lowers engraved with the proper Colt logo's.

604:
Original 604 Upper and CMPC Barrel, everything else is original Colt except the NDS Lower and the trigger group that i pulled out of my spare parts bin.

XM177:
Upper: NDS
Lower: NDS
Barrel: Brownells 1:12 chopped down to 10 inches by RetroArmWorks
BCG: Colt
Stock: Essential Arms
Buffer Tube: NDS 2 Position
Handguards: Colt
Moderator: Brick

Both look great, but that XM just does it for me. I LOVE the little carbines, and that is about as clean as one gets.

Beautiful. I'm in the middle of E2 and 604 builds myself. Any excessive play with the EA stock as others have reported? I'm also using a NDS tube.

Yes there is some play when extended, but others have said to put a couple pieces of Velcro in the stock to solve the issue which is what I will do.

I have an NDS partial fence lower, NDS FA upper, and EA collapsible stock. I plan on doing the exact same XM177 build. Yours is sweet! Any leads on where to source the parts?

Is the slip ring common on the XM177? I always see pictures of them with the Delta ring.

The E1 used the slip ring, the E2 used the Delta ring.

Fantastic job!  I'm waiting for an NDS slick side 604 upper and an M16E1 lower to complete my XM177 build.  I'm going with the slick side XM177 rather than the forward assist upper (XM177E1).  I also bought the Griffin XM linear compensator.  I'm kinda torn on that - we'll see how it works out after I get the SBR stamp back and can cut the barrel down to 10".

Perfect builds.

How do you like that 10" barrel?  Any cycling issues?

None whatsoever, shot 150 rounds the other weekend without any malfunctions. For the money its hard to beat what Brownells is offering barrel wise.
