Hey everyone, I know Evike doesn't have any Colt marked M203's but they sent an email with coupon codes in it that makes it kind of hard to pass up on one that might get the job done. Here is the email.

Happy Memorial Day! In conjunction, a whopping 24% off coupon code "MDW2016" is now also activated!! (Sale exclude MAP & sale items)

Follow us on FACEBOOK this week to get first hand updates on brands that will be lifting their minimum advertising pricing policy for a short period of time!

A lot of the better brands of Airsoft stuff is Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) controlled. Even if some do lift their policy, I don't know if there will be unmaked M203's that are good on there.

This is the one you want:
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Launchers_Related_Parts_G_P_G_P_Military_Type_M203_Grenade_Launcher_Long.htm
The $142 model mounts differently at the rear and doesn't look like it will fit the slip ring.
I bought the first model and it mounted perfectly.

Is that the same one everyone has been ordering? It is cheaper now if it is. I just bought two lower receivers today! Someone hide my credit card!

I ordered that on the 23rd. Tracking says it shipped from Honk Kong and already cleared customs in NYC last night.

Amazing age we live in.

It's been 40+ years since I've handled a real one, but best as I remember this looks just like it. I had to get out the old FM 23-31 from 5/72 and compare. It looks the same, functions the same, and even disassembles the same. I also bought the G&P hand guard. It's well made and solid.
http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Accessories_Grips_and_Stocks_AEG_G_P_M203_Upper_Handguard_Long_Version_Black.htm
I ordered some "grenades" from Evike and some of the rubber balls and hope to shoot it this weekend.

What is the difference between the two on Red Wolf? I know the weight of one is 2.3LBs and the other is 2.8LBs. Is the weight difference worth the extra money? I want to order one really bad and I want to make sure I get one that is correct in appearance. I'm not sure that the weight matters to me but if there is a reason for the extra weight please tell me.

This is the one that is $84.99 and is 2.3LBs. Tell me what I need to know about it versus the other one linked below.

This is the one that is $142.99 and is 2.8LBs. Besides the price and weight what is the true difference between the two of them? I see that this one is marked "Military Type" while the other isn't. The two of them are both made by G&P.

I think the handguards will be fine for the use that we using them for.

This thread has caught my interest since I first qualified with the M203 back at Ft. Drum in the early 90's.

Here's the M203 I was issued and qualified with along with the MILES gear attached to it.

Edit:  disregard the pic date since that was the default on my camera back then.

Question - was the upper handguard wobbly as hell?  Shot a M203 @ BOLC 2 @ Benning in 2009, I was amazed the ladder sight could cant 10s of degrees.  Obviously fixed w/ the issue of KAC rails, but kinda amazed a sighting system wasn't locked down properly.

No, I remember everything being tight and correct

edit:  It was pretty easy and accurate to shoot from what I remember.  We qualified using the blue practice rounds and then later had the opportunity to shoot HE rounds.

So, Seeing as how these were currently listed as being "In Stock" on the website, and several other sites are saying that these are being discontinued - I went ahead and purchased one... I have to admit, this is the first time I have EVER purchased anything Airsoft-related, so I have to ask - Do these stand up to the "5-foot" test (whatever that means)? And are there any practical uses for this thing if being attached to an actual AR15?... I guess what I'm wondering is - can these things be used to launch glow sticks or streamers or perhaps some donuts or some such?

I saw the post on the black powder muzzle cannon conversion. What all can be done with these things?

I have seen it discontinued on a few sites but not all of them. I think Redwolf and Tiger111 keep getting them in. Tiger111 has one called M203 Jungle or something like that. It is the same model as Redwolf's Colt heavy military.

I would like to know if both at Redwolf are marked Colt. I have an email into them and I am waiting. One is $84.90 and the other is $142.90. If they are both marked Colt I'm not sure . . . I'm just trying to justify paying more for .5 ounces and if they are both Colt marked then I will go with the cheaper one.

I was wondering if the shells could be loaded with steel BB's. I have never messed with airsoft stuff.

The rear mounting surface looks different on the two and I don't think the more expensive unit will mount properly. The cheaper one definitely mounts firmly on an A1 upper. The unit below comes with both rear mounts and you can see the difference.

The cheaper one is marked Colt with a plastic square super glued over the emblem that pops right off.

I think I see what you are saying between the two. The one has something different about it. The cheaper one looks to have a round lip at the top of the receiver. I might order that one tomorrow. I'm writing down all the prices of parts that I need and what is on sale right now. I see a lot of places offering free shipping and I am going to use that as much as I can.

The 10% off will also help with buying the M203. It pretty much covers the shipping price.

Thanks!

PS I think after I am done I will never attempt to build six rifles at one time. NEVER until next time lol.

I went ahead and ordered the cheaper one. Now the wait the begins. Also the 10% is not on the G&P products. That was a bit of a bummer.

Around here the practical purpose is to replicate the look of a real M203 without the expense of buying a real tube.

The GP items looks to do that pretty well. Go back a few pages and there are photos of it mounted.

Those are the "egg crate" shell protectors that go into each side of the bandolier to protect and hold the 40mm HE rounds (they were usually M406 rounds). And these were the smaller protectors which were replaced by deep well protectors sometime in the 80's. These smaller ones would be retro correct. And if you are a retro purist, you'd want one of these bandoliers with solid snaps with the smaller shell protectors. You couldn't get much more retro correct. The solid snap bandoliers are not easy to find, they are mostly the newer ones with the open buttons. I know this seller is in Canada, and I have no idea what shipping would be, but these are the bandoliers you want if you're going retro.

Been playing with this thing this morning-

Comes with orange dye on the firts inch of the muzzle. It came off easily with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel.

Mounts up on my A1, but is a little rattly. A few tiny shims ought to firm it up.

A+ for the counterfeit rollmarks. The Colt's logo had a plastic thing glued to it that pulled off a couple of specks of the finish when I removed it.

Looks great, BTW.

Glad you got one.  I used a small piece of tubing as a shim on mine.  Tightened right up.  Enjoy.

Mine came in today, I know it's not "Retro", but I mounted it on my A2 build along with a KAC M5 Ras. Like the others here have stated - mine showed up with easily removed orange paint around the muzzle of the barrel (used brake parts cleaner & it wiped right off) & a little piece of plasic epoxied over the "Colt" Logo. popped off pretty easy, though still have to clean it up and repaint it...

Pics...

Definitely need to see about replacing the trigger guard as the one it comes with is waaaay too flimsy/cheesy.

Do you have anything in the chamber? It won't pull if a shell is blocking it from protruding.

Do you have anything in the chamber? It won't pull if a shell is blocking it from protruding.

Not being a smartass but how the Hell do you fire it then ? ( and Yes...I did have a round in chamber, It worky, worky now, Thank's )

So it only works if a shell is in place?

It looks like mine will be here tomorrow! I just checked and it is checked into our local post office. Man I can't wait! I need to find the leaf sight now. It has been hard to find a USGI one. Another member here directed me to one and the guy has not answered any messages. I see four of them listed on eBay for $100. Anyone want to do a group buy lol.

I also need to get all my parts gathered when they come in and do some pics. I'm looking at my M4 and thinking the M203 might find a temporary home.

I also forgot to add one thing. I saw on eBay a set of carbine M203 handguards.

From the best I can tell just the opposite....that's got me scratching my head. Shell in tube,,no pull, Shell removed...trigger pulls ?

Now that is really strange. I need to get a shell and see. It is a ways down the road on parts buying.

Have you Googled problem? Maybe YouTube?

It will pull if you have an airsoft shell in place or if nothing is in the barrel, but not if you have an inert round, paper weight, gg&g salt shaker shell .etc or anything that prevents the airsoft firing plunger from moving forward into the breech.

FYI, there's an AD in the EE under NFA parts for a team member selling the M16/M203 handguards for $25.
