Check the EE out I think m16indiana may have some of the lower parts left on his add. Member boywonder777 is a good source too.

Ok I did a lot of buying the last two days and I think I can say, I see light at the end of the tunnel.  Time to mill out the receivers, get em stamped and off the anodizers.  Then start the building, first, the 603, thats the easy one, then the 607, thats gunna be a bit more intimidating.

Heres what I still need:

1 ea Rifle buffer & spring & buffer w/screw 603

1 ea Carbine buffer Spring 607

1 ea Type E stock 603

1  pr Triangle hand guards

? Carbine Gas tube-607 barrel unsure what I need for a 10" carbine bbl

Front sling swivel & pins for FSB 607

Front Sight parts  minus post 607

take down pins Frt & bck both

....sooooo close

If you are asking if the gas tube is a regular carbine gas tube, it is. Whether ten inch or sixteen inch, gas tube is the same length.

Thanks.  Wasn't sure if it was something different for the earlier ones.

It is appreciated.

OK, so I finally have everything I need, sans 607 stock, for my 607 & 603 builds, mostly parts from Indiana Army Surplus.  Only thing I forgot to order was a retro flash hider lock washer.  Over the weekend I went up to Braces work shop and got to see where the MAGIC happens. He's only 15 miles north of me and a very nice guy!  And knowledgeable...to the hilt!  He's going to re-profile my receivers then  stamp them.  Then off to the Anodizers.  I expect between Brace & Victor I have 4-6 weeks before I can start building.  ARGH!
That's a looooong wait, but it will be worth it.  I saw some of Braces work, and all I could say was ""  I know when I get my stuff back from him, it will be spot on!
Thanks for letting me see your work shop Brace!

planning, grasshopper.

while waiting for tax stamps the Mk12 Mod 0 (hey, it'a M16A1 lower) comes to the front. (601's aint got squat for expense compared to that)

it's a rolling thing.

you know, at bat, on deck and (definitely) in the hole.

I will get the 607 stocks out soon for you, Im thinking early December... Darn deer season is more addictive than RBRD.  All I do is work and hunt!
DEER!

Im not going to lie, Im a little jealous you got to see the Bmans shop. I can only imagine. I really want to take a trip to JTs place too. I think he's about 6 hrs from though.

It was great to see all his shop & machinery.  Ive been a woodworker for many years, but have always found metalwork intimidating.  I have yet to mill out my two 80% billets.

Id like to meet JT and see his shop as well.  Id guess he's about 6-8 hrs for me as well.  Have fun on your hunt and good luck.  Looking forward to
the stocks in hand.  Will be a lot of new builds out there.

Man I'm jealous. A 607 Sbr clone is one of my most wanted firearms. Maybe after I finish my Gau5/a and Gau5/a/a I can do one of these. I love the looks of the slick side shorties

They are great, especially with the early duck bill on the front.

It can be done as a first retro build, patience, deep pockets and research are the key. I started getting parts towards the end of 2011, by August of 2012 I had the approval and finished the build.

One step closer tonight.  Braceman just sent me pics after he finished the engravings.  Now to mill out the 80%rs then off to Victor for the anodizing.

The Colt will be the 607 while the H&R will become the 603.

One step closer.  Back up to Bracemans shop where I milled out my uppers today. Now they are ready for Victor to anodize.  Can't wait to get them back.  I have everything ready, except for LiveforNov's 607 stock.  Hopefully they'll be ready when the receivers are done.  That would be perfect timing!

Guess the brakes just went on my project! Damn, and I was all set to mail them out!

I knew this project was going too smooth!

Cal30M1, I keep looking at that Mag Catch, and it Does Not look like a standard Mag Catch.

Can you clarify what is model it is if it isn't a standard mag catch?

I Love the looks of the Model 607.

607 Update:

Braceman strikes again.  Just got my Barrel group.  Just need to cut a set of handguards and add the gas tube, swivel, moderator w/ washer.

Now for Victor to start accepting parts and the show is on.

btw, for your next feat you should tackle the elusive m231 port firing weapon, will make the 607 build look easy and cheap in comparison

Snapped this while I was up at Braceman's today.  He installed my 607 stock I just got from Livefornov.  Works perfect.  Thanks Matt and John!

Now to take it all apart to get things anodized.  That's all that needs done, short of assembly.  Can't wait!
