Finally got to put this kit together (for the most part)
I went with a 1:9 twist barrel.
I have not finished the Colt engraved 80% yet so i swithed out a few parts on my Anderson lower. (it goes to a 16" M4 style AR. my 1st) So i can test fire / function before putting a finish on.
Is there soposed to be this gap on HG's?
my 2nd AR build.

I like the A1 stock so much i desided to order on my the M4

That gap looks about normal to me. Seen some way worse some have no gap, but most do. Mine are like that. Is your barrel .625 at the gas block or .750?

Your build looks really nice.  The gap between the handguards is nothing to worry about,

like the previous poster stated, some are like that, and some are way worse.  Take your time

on the 80% lower, and be sure to post some pic's when it's complete.

Also, don't forget to post your range results, as they are always appreciated.

Yes 1st retro, 2nd AR.
1st was a Bearcreek M4 kit & Anderson lower
I am already hooked, I have spent some hours reading about the different types, military issued/ prototypes etc.
once I had an idea of the order they came in, I find out there is another series of retro AR's. civilian types like SP1's (idk the history on them)
all together its a lot retro's to build/collect
