Ok not that AAA but Australian Automatic Arms SAP Pistol.
From what I have read, AAA bought the rights to build the Leader Dynamics T2 MkV and moved production to Tasmania.
It would appear that not to many of these made it to the states before production was stopped.
I think I might SBR this one as a complement to my AR-180B Shorty.
What do you guys know about these and please feel free to post pictures of your Leader/AAA guns.
Looks like AR15 fire control group unlike the Leader. I'll look into that later.
No carry handle like the Leader.
The dovetail where I butt stock would reside is missing so an adapter of some sort would have to be fasioned to SBR it.
The only problem with the whole gun.

Be careful shooting it they eat extractors probably not many parts left for them if any at all...
I had to have the mfg send me a few extra when I had mine years ago...

I have the exact same gun. (goes to check safe)
They are one of my favorite designs. Unfortunately the construction isn't the best.
The hammer is an AR style, but the head on it is wider, and thus heavier.
You can probably get an AR15 extractor to work, or just call Masterpiece Arms. They make a modern version.

Wait......Austrailia can haz gunz again??
<sighs> yeah yeah, I know ....it's just wishful thinking.
ETA: though it looks like you might be missing a C-clip on that bolt assembly? I Don't know...

They only use one c clip because the charging handle surrounds the other guide rod.
I really like the fact that the entire bcg/guide rod/return spring system is self contained.
Makes it much easier to field strip.

Rick - thanks for posting these pics - I've never seen the pistol version except in pics, just the carbine version. Frankly, I haven't heard much good about them, but they were never developed the way the AR15 was, which as we know had it's share of teething problems. It's a fascinating design, and the dual recoil bars always seemed like genius to me. A beautifully compact package. You lucky bastard - great find!
A piece of delrin some time on the band saw and mill you could make one up or a VZ58 folder...
Or make up a wood folder and a set of wood hand guards that would look cool...
AAA pistols beg to be turned into a SBR...
Have fun with your project...

Love the importer roll mark. California Armory, San Bruno California. Oh the irony.

D&D Sales has a modified Choate stock that can be adapted to work.
I have two of the hook style ones w/o the metal hardware.
