Anyone plan on going? I think it's the weekend of April 10th, hoping to make it down. Admittedly it's only like 45 minutes from me though so I have no excuse

Trying to convince the SO to let me go. I think she has a family friend in the area but that's never managed to convince her before. About a 9 hour drive for me.

It's in my neighboring state, yet it's 450 miles away.

It's about an hour for me, I have not gone before. I plan to go next year, when I, hopefully, have more money

That depends on your level of disposable income.

I wouldn't drive that far unless I made a weekend out of it.

I've been 4-5 times so honestly I wouldn't drive that far.

I've traveled 3 times that far twice to go. Should answer the question for you.

What sucks is it's no big deal to the guys who live close and go all the time, guys like me plan our trip months in advance and count down the days.

Right. It would be pointless for anyone as far as me to travel a day and then leave after one day. I leave on Thursday and come back Tuesday a.m. use 3 vacation days and back to work Wednesday.

Don't let Sputnik's response scare you away.  You might get the impression that he means it is expensive to attend the shoot. I think he means you COULD spend a bundle, and you could, if you wanted to buy a lot of gun stuff. But to attend, the admission is usually 15 bucks a day or a fixed price for the 3 days. You COULD attend for not much, but if you have lots of disposable income there are MANY vendors there to help you dispose of it.
Unfortunately, I'm about 30 minutes away and can make it there only on Friday. My regular workdays are Sat and Sun.

Not trying to rain on the KCMG shoot, but the NRA convention is April 10, 11, 12 in Nashville. Hope all who can go or wants to, gets to. I was torn between the two but I can pass up one time at the creek for the annaul meeting/convention. But, I'll be there as usual in October.

Best thing about show is gunshow area. You'll see stuff you dont see at other shows. Worth a large travel once. But I live couple hours from it and go every time.

You don't have to rain on KC, Mother Nature does that almost every time. Seems it's monsoon season 3 out 5 shoots.

I was gonna say that but it's painfully obvious by all who attend regularly. Somehow, I've always hoped that they would change the spring show to May.

That hadn't even occurred to me, thanks Stoner..

I usually spend about $100 there, that includes an MG rental.

I've spent about $200 once or twice. It's pretty affordable.

Learning from last time:  Bring a handcart to transpost bulk ammo purchases back to the vehicle.

I planned to go to both not realizing that they were the same weekend, plans were already made for KCR, so that's why I'm going there.

Wish I could go to Nashville.

I wouldn't sweat it missing one shoot for an important NRA meeting when you live so close and can attend frequently.

Correct. And the convention is only
Around close every 8 to 10 years.
