.....I added up the cost
But the cost wasn't all that bad, there were places I could have saved and items I may upgrade in the future but for now, I really like it. The Alumahyde "Dark Parkerizing Grey" was a little challenging, mainly because it did not stick to my raw 80% lower the first try. It stuck to the anodized upper great so I went and bought an anodized lower, machined it and painted it and it stuck great to that one. (The soda blaster and soda from Harbor Freight was another $130) How does the grey look to you retro experts?

The color looks very nice, good job.

Cheers for the bayonet. And that's an excellent reproduction of the Mattel receivers they didn't roll mark for the CIA in Vietnam.

I dont think spending your money on something you want is a bad idea. I bought a 72 sp1 off GB for 975$ after transfer and shipping. It was cheaper to buy one but each their own.

If you think it's expensive now, wait until the A2 lower, case deflector and .750 barrel start bothering you.
