What is the retro crowd building with C7 uppers? Other then true C7's that is... I have A1 lowers, not A2.

723/733

Of course a C7 rifle clone is a nice build.

I usually post my C7 builds in the A2 forum, even my BHD 723 clone......

Yea, I spend time over there in A2 land, but I wanted to see what retro heads were doing with them. 733 or 723 were a thought. Maybe some type of Franken C7... I still have not ruled out a C7 20 inch, but I was looking to use up another A1 lower.

Thanks for the input and I'm still looking for ideas on how to use the upper if anybody has something different in mind

This has been argued previously, and we pretty much all agree that despite the 700 series C7s being technically A2's (rollmark only) they belong in both forums, and are acceptable in either. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm beginning to believe the time has come to combine the two forums and allow A2's here. I know, right?

I've been looking for a green and black IDF band and all I can find is the solid green, found the rear band on Zahal's website but their front bands are green only. Call me OCD if you want but I wanted them to match...

Are you OCD enough to have tracked down the Israeli marked handguard?  Thats what took me some time.

I had not thought of an IDF build... BHD builds are fun.  I'm going to have to see what parts I have laying around that I can scrounge up. That may be a better guide for which way the build will go.

The A2 forum has little activity compared to the retro forum. No question it would get more attention if it were part of retro land...

I started a PIF thread when the A2 section first opened, and Augee did a great upper and barrel tutorial with Pictures. John Thomas even posted his C7 in the C7 thread and that thread remains strong, and Augee's tutorial got tacked. My PIF thread got off to a great start but fizzled out and fell to the all the way to the back.

I agree, it's very slow over there in A2 world. The AR10 forum is now a part of Variants, I'm sure LARRYG is loving it with everybody calling all the 7.62 platforms AR10's.

Well after doing a parts inventory, it looks like I already have all of the parts needed to build a C7. Another build (727) has an A2 lower and the more I research, the more it looks like it should have a gray A1 lower with a gray A2 upper. That frees up an A2 lower for me.

Off to A2 land to build a C7, thanks for the help and ideas.
