Carbon Fiber is used as a heat shield over the exhaust on the motor industrie, can a AR-10/AR-15 forearm be made ou of carbon fiber so it does not need the normaly used aluminium heat shield?

Not sure how this is retro but DPMS has a carbon fiber handguard.

I like Lancer Systems handguards.  Super nice.  Lots to choose from these days.

For just the tube, I like the way Hiperform's install.

I don't mean the new type of forearms, what i mean is to use the old retro triangular or conic forearm made out of carbon fiber but with no aluminium heat shield,in tune with what was originaly intended by ArmaLite for the AR-10 and AR-15 but updating it from glass fiber to carbon fiber so it stays as light as possible and futuristic as originaly intended.
...business opportunity?

They'd sure as hell be easier to make without heat shields.

If a aluminium engine block can take constant internal explosions and piston friction inside the combustion chambers, why cant a rifle barrel take the same as it as less use then a car engine,is it just a question of thickness?

I've been meaning to start a Lancer thread. Did Lancer stop making them to keep up with magazine production?

Is it okay to Cerakote them?

I emailed them last weak regarding a technical issue and there wasn't any indication they had stopped production and it seems the retailers are still getting product.  I wouldn't know about Cerakoteing.

You might want to email them.  I got a quick response.
