Bump and by the way, Villa, did you shorten that 607 to 10"? Or is that a pic of the 607 in its current config? (11.5?)

It's still 11.5.......just put a 3-prong and grenade band (for looks only!) on it......used the repro 4.5" moderator I had left over on the xm177

For a second there I thought you had a RETRO gun but, then I saw the photo.
Nice gun but, it really doesn't fit here too well.

It is real Colt....they had 3 last October at 275.00 each. I stopped by their place on the way home from Boston.......picked up some very early barrels, the xm butt, and some other goodies.

I finally took the plunge and cut an A1 grip and stuck it on my E2 upper Now I just wait for NDS's lowers...

Why hasnt anyone else done this??? It took me about 30 mins with a hacksaw. Wrapped the grip in a towel, stuck it in a vise, and went to town.

Illinois legal (16" barrel) XM177E2 clone with a one-off slipover flash hider.

The lower was from my SHTF rifle, and actually has an A2 trapdoor grip with the finger bump ground off and a 6 position M4 tube hidden under the CAR stock body.

I'll play  e2 on SP1 lower till NDS gets their partial lower fence done.

Nice E2, Travis! And nice SP1 too..looks familiar

But you're gonna be looking for a full fence lower for your E2, not a partial fence. Partial fences were on E1s.

It's more of a 'want' a partial on that one.  I have another colt full fence ready for it, but really want a partial ... I want your sling you have posted above too!!

I got it along with the one on my 601, a Colt/Armalite 601 charging handle, and an A1 port door assy. for $95 shipped. The one in the pic is pretty much brand new, but it's just dark. You can find brand new in wrap ones from Moore Militaria, I think. Might be a little more green though.

Anyone have any Retro Shorty Carbines that have been painted up camo?  I am in the process of an XM77E1 build that I plan on painting with Krylon and just wanted to see if anyone else had done the same.

Gray15, is the over all length 16" on your rifle? I'm torn between building one like yours but, with modern parts (C7) upper just as a plinker or doing something closer to an XM177E1 clone. I have to build it 16" whatever I decide thanks to Illinois' no SBR laws.

That's a real Colt 653. Full auto, 14.5" barrel.

Thanks for the info. That is one sweet looking rifle. I guess I could get close to that look by using a Bushy lightweight barrel cut down a little either with an extended A2 flash hider or an A1 with the custom double nut job at the base of the hider. Pinned of course.
And no FULL AUTO.    Me><Illinois Law Makers

Here is my build in progress.......J&T lightweight 11.5 barrel with a Kustom KKF 5.5 XM177 FS. The grenade ring is part of the FS. Upper receiver is an L-M marked m16a1 army spares contract part. Looks too cool! Kurt@KKF did an awesome job!

Just waiting for the NDS retro lower to complete.

is that one going to be a SBR or is it 16 inches.

It's 16+ inches!  almost fooled me when i first opened the box. had to break out the tape measure to verify. Kurt made it so it would look authentic and still be over 16"  it is blind pinned perm attached.
