The US Soldiers Fighting To Bring Down Castro (1997) ALPHA 66 v Pastors for Peace (pkg) (10News) The group was originally formed by Cuban exiles in the early 1960s and was most active in the late 1970s and 1980s. Alpha 66 presented itself as a patriotic organization that wished to undo the betrayal to the revolution that was Fidel Castro's government. Alpha 66's founding members included many Cubans who had fought as revolutionaries against the Batista government alongside Fidel Castro and Alpha 66's anthem directly references Fidel Castro as having betrayed the ideals that the group's members originally fought for. A number of Members were veterans of the Bay of Pigs Invasion and served with Brigada 2506. Brigada 2506 Members being taken as POWs by Castro lead Forces. Their return to the US and President Kennedy honoring their efforts. Alpha 66 had multiple founders including Eloy Gutirrez Menoyo, who had served twenty years in a Cuban prison for counterrevolutionary activities, and Antonio Veciana. Early on, some members of Alpha 66 also partook in the United States-sponsored Volunteer Program, which allowed Cuban exiles to form all-Cuban military units within the United States Army. Additionally, members of Alpha 66 received funding and training from the CIA; however, this support did not last. The CIA found that it had little control over the actions of Alpha 66 and, in many cases, Alpha 66 carried out operations without the CIA's approval or consultation, leading to the CIA ending its involvement with the group. Despite the lack of government support, Alpha 66 still managed to train its members throughout the everglades of Florida and conducted hits in Cuba. When the CIA originally supported the organization The 1980s and early 1990s when they lost CIA support. Their actions specifically got the Florida Legislature to pass the State Antiparamilitary Training Act. |

Beautiful work with the furniture!
Shoot, you could have made this it's own thread. It's been a while since I've seen someone detail their painting techniques for early furniture. |

I got tired of waiting, so I filled the markings with JB Weld, sanded it smooth, and gave it a coat of Aluma-Hyde II Dark Parkerizing Grey.
Pretty close match to the original Colt upper. Attached File |

I'm new to the forum so here's my first post. This is a DPMS Panther I picked up at my local gun store a few years back for about $500. I would appreciate any input on it's origin as I can't find much info about a Panther with a 20" stainless barrel that is not a bull barrel. This is the gun when I first bought it.

This is the current iteration. The handguard, adjustable stock, gas tube and gas block were all courtesy of Luth-AR. I apologize for the 45. It was just there.

I’ll either have have the NDS, along with their city and state engraved on the pistol grip tang or inside and under the trigger guard area. I know that eventually the supply issues with H&R receivers will be worked out in due time, but I was hoping to sell off all my virgin NDS lower receivers by now, but that’s not happening anytime soon, so I’ll push on sacrificing two lowers to build a M16A1 and XM16E1 clones. Mike is doing a hell of a job, which is greatly appreciated by many of us here, but at the same time, I do understand the frustration many of us are feeling. We do have options, but the only realistic one is that we wait for supply to meet the demand on these products to catch up. Since 80% receivers are now a NoGo in my state, waiting is now my only option since nobody is offering a service to convert M4/A4 lower receivers into a retro A1 lowers. Honestly, I couldn’t do Mike’s job since he has the patience of a Saint!! |
