How often do you actually/should you clean your DI pistol? After a certain round count? Every range trip? I'm not even shooting it suppressed yet either I know people hate on pistons but I am starting to think that may be a good choice for next shorty upper.

I clean my AR pistols same as my rifles, after every trip to the range I'll wipe down & re-lube the BCG. Maybe after 5 or 6 range trips I'll swab the barrel.
I don't shoot much over the winter so I usually give 'em a detail cleaning then, but that's more out of boredom than necessity.

I personally prefer to run piston (I have an AA 7.5 Evo). Either way like the above stated, I clean my bolt and run a bore snake once after a range trip. Detail cleaning before long storage.
