If I read correctly:
The barrel is 5.56 with thread 1/2 x 28. The KAK Flash Can is for 9mm barrel and threaded 1/2 x 36. So if you have a 9mm upper with a barrel threaded for 1/2 x 36, then this KAK flash can would work. |

I'm thinking it's a 'typo' on the thread size of the flash can.

If You ordered the complete upper w/ Flashcan, your OK, The Barreled upper will come with the Flash Can attached, It's 1/2X28.
