Only having exp with the top two...Honestly they are like strapping a brick to the end of my short barrels and at night I am no fan of 2 ft flames understanding that ammo choice will affect results.
A fan of both companies and owning much Noveske and PWS, it pains me to say that I will use a A2 before either of those again. If you have the scratch and money is no object, then I would opt for Kac TT all day. |

I really liked my Kies Master Blaster its like a levang except that the ports are recessed instead of being flush with the end of the device. I had it on a 10.5" 223 pistol. I got a suppressor so the master blaster just sits in my parts box.

I have their Synergy Comp on my 10.5" and it works great. A little loud but no flash during the day. They have a couple other options depending on how much flash hiding and how much compensation you want. |

BRT does a good job as is compatible with one make of silencer. It's a linear so it can throw sound forward.
Since teams work closely and nobody needs to get blast in their face, side ported brakes aren't the professional answer. They are 3Gun competition items to reduce elapsed times on a lane and not intended for tactical use. The only other person near a 3Gun competitor is the timer and he knows to stay out of the way. Since 5.56 has so low recoil you can shoot it with the butt against your chin the better characteristics of a muzzle device is how it throws sound and blast where. Linears do a good job for a non-NFA device. |

I conducted a non-scientific test this past Sunday with a PWS CQB, Blast Master, and A2.
Four guys (including me) standing off to the right side while another guy shot my SBR. The 10.5" with CQB was less concussive than the 16" ARs with A2s being fired that day. You could literally see a tight stream of gas blasting out the front. Took the CQB off (it gets hot quick!) and put on the Kies. We all agreed it was a little less effective than the CQB but still better than the 16" carbines. Last time the group gathered, I had an A2 on my SBR. I was politely asked by the event organizer to stop shooting it. I'm sold on linear comps for redirecting sound from an AR to the point that I may consider a Kies or similar for my 14.5-16" guns. As for SBRs/pistols, I will have to decide if the extra 5oz is worth the 20% additional effectiveness of the CQB. 10.5"? Maybe... 7.5"? Definitely Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

This is all based on using an indoor range, which makes a difference vs outdoors:
I started out with an A2 on my 7.5" 556 barrel...horrendous flash and blast effect and sucked for everyone around, including me. BOOM, BOOM, done for the day lol. Bought the Ferfrans and was eager to try it, but my FF rail covers-up my muzzle by about 1.5". So, no go, sadly (it requires finger tip access to the muzzle device/end of the barrel). Installed a KX3 and the world is happy! The fireball is now further away from the end of the barrel/shooter's face. It seems much quieter, feels softer on muzzle rise, and definitely pushes the gun rearward more, vs muzzle rise. Its more weight than I wanted to add, but its heavy duty and looks good! |

On pistols I use a BRT and Kineti-Tech on 300blk and Levang on 223/556. All are lightweight and push the sound and blast away from the shooter.

My PWS CQB comp seems to do a decent job on a 7.75" model. Not so fun for people off to the sides at an indoor range, but for the shooter it's not bad at all.

Ever consider the Troy Claymore? Its not too much bigger than the birdcage and works well for its size.

I have a barking spider 2 on a 14.5" (pinned/welded) and it's very mild at my ears. The gun is set up using a NEA PDW stock, so it's a fairly compact package. I use the flat front, but they offer a dynacomp as well. I also have a Noveske KX5 on a 7.5" Adams Arms pistol. It's the only way I would shoot the little beast. I originally had an A2 on it and it was like getting kicked in the teeth. My buddy gives a big thumbs up to his Ferfrans.

I have the Levang on my 10.5. It does what it's supposed to do and for $30 I can't complain. No experience with the others.

I have a KX3, and love it, but it is heavy. Look at the BRT Covert Comp. I run it on my 6.8 and really like it. And it's only $50.

Started out with a A2 on my 7".
Good grief! The fireball actually blocked my sight picture and the roar was painful. Tried the Claymore and it helped some. Ended up with the CQB. It's heavy and expensive but quieter than my 16". |

I used a B.E Meyers hider worked great zero flash. I used a SF socomn brake. Cleared the range due to concussion and now I use the flaming pig. If I didn't need the extra length, I would use the Meyers hider. These were used on a 8.5 barrel.

I liked the looks of it at the time and didn't realize the cans are no longer sold that fit it. At some point in the future that will ne replaced with a Surefire QD brake or FH for future suppressor. I bought the 18T when I was considering an AAC can but my thoughts have swayed to the Surefire Socom300-SPS suppressor. |

I really like the Black River Tactical Covert Comp It keeps the overall length/weight of the pistol down while projecting all the blast forward. Its not terribly priced either. |
