Is that one of the stainless $70 7.5" 223 barrels from Classic Arms? I missed it in your specs...
I'm wondering what handguard you have. Both my 7.5" barreled pistols have the barrel threads under the carbine length hand guard. Can you cowitness with the Tasco positioned where it is or will you need a riser? |

That is one of the $70 stainless barrels from classic.
The red dot is on a small riser and it does co- witness. The hand guard is a $50 advance technology from cheaper than dirt. |

Budget guns are awesome. The middle I'm building for a truck gun is going to come in just over $450.

My latest budget build....
PSA 10.5 upper $179 PSA full auto bolt $79 PSA MOE pistol build kit $89 Anderson Lower $42 Grand total. $389... All I need is a rear sight and done damn near sub 400 buck build. Oh and I have a PA red dot for it too. Let the Fun Begin |

Mine would be sub $400 easy, but I'm using a spikes pistol lower I have lying around. If that doesn't count 'cause I built it forever ago, I'm around or under $275 for this middy build.

That's a smokin price for a barrel. I guess I've used 9" carbine handguards on mine and the ATI is 8" so it can be used with an A front sight. Also looks like you have some type of linear comp. They make a big difference with the short barrel. I can appreciate a good budget build. |

Just measured my handguard and it is 7.25" and not 9". The ATI indicates 8" mil spec carbine. Perhaps I looked at the wrong one on the CTD website. |

Took the pistol to the range today. It ran flawless except didn't' lock the bolt back with an old thermold mag I was using. Changed the mag and it worked fine. I did see a good bit brass on the deflector but I guess that is what it's there for.

Stick a piece of velcro on the deflector. It helps reduce denting of the brass too. It won't add much to your overall cost of build

I just finished mine. Not a build just slapped the upper and lower together.
PSA Pistol Lower Blem $109 Free shipping $27 FFL fee PSA 10.5 Upper $179 Free shipping PSA BCG and CH $109 Shipped Buffer Tube Cover $12 Shipped Hogue Grip $20 Shipped Daniel Defense Rear Sight $72 Shipped Total around $527. Had a magpul rear sight and the original grip so without that stuff and the buffer tube cover it is around a $425 build from PSA. Runs flawless so far. |
