PART 1: THE LOWER

I've been wanting to do a Star Wars themed AR pistol for quite some time. Slowly piecing this project together when I have the money and when things are on sale. :)

I started out with an 80% receiver and milled it out.

Next I sent the lower to SureShot Precision to have it laser engraved and anodized. They did an excellent job of taking my rough draft and making it a reality. Here is what I wanted it to look:

After a few weeks, this is how I received my lower:

Next I collected parts to complete the lower:

- Seekins trigger guard
- Phase 5 Extended Bolt Release v2
- ALG Defense ACT trigger
- Battle Arms Enhanced Pin Set
- Battle Arms Ambi Safety Selector
- Magpul MOE grip (had a spare, wanting to replace this with BCM Mod 3)
- Thordsen Customs Enhanced AR Pistol Builders Kit

PART 2: THE UPPER

I picked up a Vltor MUR 1-S for $125 from an LGS (Quickguns.com). I was originally going to go with an Aero Precision side slick upper, but the Vltor was an awesome deal for a slightly different look. I got a custom dust cover engraved from tacticalgearjunkie.com for a little over $18 shipped using their coupon FACEBOOK10. The dust cover engraving looks awesome, however it needed some slight filing on one side to prevent rubbing/binding with the receiver.

I went with an Aero 10.5" and KAK slim flash can.

Also in the pic but hard to see are AIM V2 nitride BCG and Raptor CH.

Spikes gas tube and BTE micro gas block arrived.

Build is finished. I went with a Midwest Industries SSM 12" handguard. The gas block screws touched the handguard, so I went to the hardware store and bought low-profile flat head allen screws.I also mounted Magpul MBUS Pros. Haven't decided if I want an optic yet.

Can't wait to take it to the range once I have time.

Badass build! Always cool when people step back and do a build like this.

I'm still after a sterling to do a true blaster conversion on though

Their armor was white, the E11 was black.

That is awesome! Too bad it won't be able to hit anything. The stormtroopers never did.

Looks good as it is, remember the one in the movie is a doctored up Sterling without the stock. If I recall.

Man, that is awesome!  Great job!  Can't wait to see if you scope it out like theirs too.....

Again- great build!

My inner geek is tingling, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Pretty cool!  Hopefully you're a better shot than the typical stormtrooper though...

Definitely not anytime soon. The pistol was a huge money pit.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. Makes this build worth even more.
