I am almost done with my 10.5" 300 BLK pistol and need help deciding on an optic. I dont know whether to go with a red dot or 1x4 optic. Most shooting will be 110 or 125 grain supers at 50 to 100 yards but i would like to be able to reach out to 200 with some accuracy as well. My only concern with a red dot is no magnification and having a 2 or 3 MOA dot to put on a target 100 to 200 yards away.

Would like to here what you guys use, what you like and dislike about it, and the reasons why you did went with what you did.

I was about to post a similar thread OP.  I'm finishing up (2) 10.5" 300 pistols, 1 for me & 1 for a buddy.

He is going with a Vortex strikefire while I'm still undecided between a 1-4 scope or the strikefire.

In the pistol pic thread I see alot of eotechs & other red dots but both of these pistols will be used in MO's alternative hunting season

Tag to see what others are doing.

The 4moa dot on the Strikefire is a complete turn-off in my book.  Kinda related to a 4" dot covering your target at 100 yards.

A 1x4 or 1x6 is a good choice...

I have the burris 1x4 with the burris fast fire 3 on top.  I shot this setup on 1x at the Sportsmans Shooting Center in Grapevine TX and it was a blast.  With 1x you can shoot both eyes open like a red dot.  It was very accurate shooting moving targets that were actually 25 yards away but scaled for various distances.

My rifle has the Wilson Combat 11.3" barrel.
