I like this a lot and am thinking of switching out the Magpul AFG gen2 foregrip already purchased for this:

Does anyone have experience with these grips? Any comments/feedback are appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Jim

It looks (which carries more weight than it should) like a vertical grip, more so than the AFG. If you haven't already, I would write to the BAFTE and ask for legality/clarification.

I found this under the BATF pinned thread that relates to pistols:

I assume this answers the questions of legality.

Makes you wonder at what angle they draw the line.

Actually 26.0" to be precise, but who's measuring? ;)

I've oft wondered about a horizontal pistol grip.

Can anybody cite a source regarding the vertical grip on 10.5? And why is that?

90 Degrees. So when some one makes a 89 degree AFG we can test the waters.

If your read through the ATF letters at the top of section, they have made an Arbitrary ruling a 26" weapon is not an AOW if it has two grips, it becomes just a firearm, and not a pistol (because it would no longer be designed to be fired by one hand). So all firearm laws apply, also some state laws like MN forbid such things. It has nothing to do with the 10.5" barrel and everything to do with 26" or longer firearm. Generally though a 10.5" barrels pistol with a the KAK tube which is about an inch longer than a standard tube makes the pistol OAL 26"+. Remember the flash hider does not count unless permanently attached. Also if no VFG is a attached it is a pistol no matter the OAL or barrel length, so you could have a 26 foot barrel on your pistol lower and it is still a pistol, although again some state laws like MN say any pistol with a barrel longer than 16" is rifle. So many of these laws are dependent on where you live.

So like this?
They may've shot themselves in the foot by calling it a VFG though.

Changing from one afg to another should increase your operator index rating by at least 3%

Read the third paragraph of the posed letter. Pretty well answers your question.

That sinks the 90 degree ghetto grip as well.

We have 80 % lowers that are not a firearm.  80 degree grips?

They are firearms once you finish them. Actually, I believe they become such with the very first milling/drilling on them.
